I remember the coolness of the air, and hearing the leaves crunch beneath people's feet as they walked past my shop, A candy store that got passed down to me when my grandfather passed away. I decided to run his shop since it was an important part of our family history, to always be wise and mindful when making candy, so you won't get caught for what others might see as wrong.  When the air got colder I felt the day go darker, just as a couple with a child walked in front of my shop.
"Moooom can we get candy, I want candy", said the little girl who tried to stop her mother from walking further.
Sighs, "No honey it's getting late, and we can't stay any longer, for there are dangers we cannot speak of", the mother stressed.
I watched as her mother began to walk away, but the child, on the other hand seemed to have another idea. My shops bell rang, and I walked out from behind the counter smiling, almost smirking, as I slowly strided my way towards the little devil.
"Hello there", I said sweetly, yet sickly. She looked up at me with wide, scared eyes, and nervously smiled.
"He..ll..o", she squeeked quietly.
"Shouldn't you be at home with your parents, little bits", I replied almost amused, with a twinkle in my eyes. She widened her eyes so big it reminded me of my pops I have on display in front of the shop, or in the pot that's boiling ready on the stove in my kitchen. She puffed up her chest trying to look brave.
"I came for candy", she said arrogantly. The rumble in my chest grew as the hunger of the night started to spread, I just smiled again, nodding my head slightly side to side.
"Of course you have", I stated quit venomously.
"Why don't you follow me in the back were we can make a delicious treats for each other?" I motioned my head towards the door behind the counter, and back at the little girl who suddenly perked up more.
"Yes, yes, yes please!" the little girl said three times. She skipped behind the counter through the door, and with the silence that came afterwards you could see the scratch marks on the door that once was there, and the chilled air singing in harmony after a good night meal that will forever be remembered to this day.
