I had been in the police station for hours now. They have been questioning me about what had happened. I told them everything I knew, but it seemed that they demanded more. My parents had arrived, a few minutes ago with Aiden.

I was in my own little room with one officer, Jenna was put in a separate room but left a while ago. She didn't know that much. Josh's parents were also being questioned, whether they knew anything or not...I didn't know. But they were upset too, obviously.

I had learned what happened to Josh and the intruder after I left. The first shot I heard was Josh being shot. Then the second, the police shooting the man. Josh was shot in the chest, which is deadly. The nurse said though, he was extremely lucky and if that bullet was one millimeter in any other direction...he would die. He also had stomach bruising, probably due to that punch he received. He was immediately taken into surgery, hours ago. They won't let anyone see him yet, but they said soon.

The police finished questioning me, and I was free to go, but I wanted to wait to see how Josh was doing. I convinced my parents to let me stay, which they allowed. They sat by me the whole time, my mom had her arm resting over my shoulders, keeping me comfort.

I looked over at Josh's parents who were sitting near us. They looked back, we didn't smile at each other...we looked at each other with hope that he would be okay.

A nurse came over to them and said something. It must have been good news because they smiled and got up. I started getting up too, but my parents pulled me back.

"Just wait a few minutes honey." My mom said softly. So I sat back down.

Soon the same nurse came back out and signaled for me to come back with her. My parents stayed behind though, I'm not sure of their reason.

I got up and followed the nurse down a blue painted hallway, filled with that doctor smell. She eventually led me to a door with the number 14 on it.

"Now, before you go in here. Please understand that your friend is in a coma." She said.

"What? For how long?" I asked worried. I didn't know this part.

"We aren't sure yet."

"Okay. Well can I see him?" I asked, this nurse was sort of bothering me. I just want to make sure he is alive. He did this so I could get away unharmed.

"Sure." She opened the door and let me walk in. Josh's parents looked at me, his mom extending an arm I grabbed her hand and held it for a moment before they both walked out. Leaving me in the room with only Josh, who looked lifeless. There were so many different tubes surrounding him.

I looked around the room then walked closer to his bed. I knew he was alive...but it didn't seem like it. He was pale, and barely even looked like him.

He had marks all over him, face and arms covered with small bruises. I should have stayed to help him. I don't know if I would have helped much though.

I thought back to the moment where he was telling me to leave. He seemed so sure he could handle it, so sure that he wouldn't let me get hurt.

I looked at him once more, whispering a silent thank you before I left his room, meeting up with my parents again. My mom putting her arms around me and walking me out to our car.
