I ended up doing number 6. I don't know, It peaked my interest more than prompt 5. I hope you enjoy.--------------------------------------------
A mix of screams and a hefty amount of laughs echoed off of the walls of the Rivers' Residence. A door flung open and a terse girl practically flew through it and out to the open forestry.
"Catch me if you can!" She shouted just as her best friend; Kai, came dashing out behind her. He struggled to catch up with her, a gleaming blade in his palm. Kai sped up as they entered an empty clearing.
"Vegas, slow down!" He whined, doubling over to try to catch his breath. His gaze traveled up to where his female friend was, too resting to catch her breath. That's when he took the chance and he pounced, knocking Vegas to the ground. Vegas struggled to get her bigger friend off. "Get off!" She hissed through clenched teeth.
"Not a chance Rivers!" He laughed evilly, pulling the blade up to her neck. He ran a clean line across her unblemished throat. Despite her whining, she kept still. "It stings!" Vegas seethed, she began to writhe again; in an attempt to escape her older friend's grasp.
"Fine, fine! I'm off!" He hopped off of Vegas and watched as her wound healed seamlessly. He offered a hand to help her get up. She silently declined, getting up on her own. "You mad at me or somethin'?" He asked, following behind her.
"What do you think?" She muttered. Vegas swiftly turned away from her best friend and began to walk back to her giant estate. "Go home, Kai." She spoke, shutting the door behind her. Kai quickly jumped up to the door.
"Seriously, Vegas!" He yelled, attempting to yank the door open. Kai followed her silhouette to the window of her home. "Look, I'm sorry!" He watched her trek up her wooden staircase and to her room. She slammed her door shut, completely ignoring her best friend's pleas. He sank to the floor of the patio. "Please..." His voice strained.
"Kai! Time to come home!" His mother called out for him to eat dinner. Kai sighed heavily. His forest green jacket hung limply from his shoulders as he trudged his way back home.
Vegas sniffled against her pale skin. She sat on her bed, knees hugged to her chest. "I'm sorry too.." She spoke breathily, "I just can't keep playing this game anymore... It hurts too much." Vegas cried out, her breaths got shorter and her sniffles became louder. She touched the pale skin of her neck, that had been previously grazed with the cool blade. "From this day on, I will not be playing that game anymore, Kai Kimura."
