3 Months Later...

----

Chilling rain in late November wasn't often welcomed between the couple. However, that night when their bodies were flushed against each other, Josh's body heat warmed up the entire house as his lips moved diligently against Tyler's. The rain was the absolute last thing on their minds.

"Josh-" the brunette gasped out. His own words being interrupted into a whimpering moan. The sound drove Josh absolutely crazy. Tyler panted. His body arching up from the bed, hands fisting tightly against the once neatly kept sheets. "I'm gonna-"

Josh's ruthless thrusts halted suddenly as he felt Tyler clench around him, both finishing at the same time. The brunette writhed beneath him from the immense wave of pleasure as Josh pulled out of him.

The curly haired man smirked down at how wrecked Tyler looked. He reached over to the nightstand, pulling a tissue to clean the both of them before tossing it into the small can beside the bed. He leaned down, legs now on either side of the spent brunette to brush his lips lightly against the others. Tyler's hair clung to the sweat on his forehead. Josh nudged his jaw up causing a tired smirk to form of his plump lips. Josh sunk his teeth playfully into Tyler's Adam's apple, before kissing over it.

"You're beautiful," Josh mumbled into his god-like skin. He tiredly pulled the thin sheets over both of their bodies. But Tyler knew he wouldn't need it, Josh was the only warmth he'd ever need.

Tyler's tired dark brown eyes looked up to meet Josh's hazel-green. His lips lazily pulled up into a smile as he mouthed 'I love you.'

When Josh touched foot in Indianapolis he could feel Thomas's words ringing in his head like a mantra. Find Grace in Indiana. He had no idea who, or where, but when he mentioned it to Jenna, she immediately knew. It was her mother, after all. And despite forgetting her father in the place forbidden of even speaking of, she remembers her so vividly. Golden hair like her own, and eyes a blue so gorgeous you would mistake it like the ocean itself.

Grace Shelby is an extraordinary woman.

The day she woke up in her manor, 3 months ago, from rushed knocks on her door and a crowd of maybe thirty children and adults, she didn't think anything of it. She was actually expecting them to come. Tyler and Joshua included. Thomas let her know. Even in death, he was still watching out for everyone.

It had been rough for everyone, learning to adjust to a life that was no longer military-strick, or living by the edge of every second like it would be your last. But Grace made it easier. Always so supportive, and seemingly never got angry. Even when Tom accidentally knocked over an ancient vase. Or when Zion short-fused all of the electricity in the entire manor when she sneezed. Both incidents laughed off with a gentle reminder. If it were to be at DEMA, they would've been starved.
Life had done a complete 360 for everyone who made it out alive, and Josh and Tyler seemed to be relishing in the peace. At least, while it lasted.
Tyler could see where Jenna got her calm and gentle personality. And Josh could too- but he had been avoiding Jenna after the escape.

Despite Jenna's countless accepted apologies, Josh still blamed himself for the death of her father. Every time he looked into her blue eyes, he didn't see her mothers who kindly gave them shelter, but her fathers. His drained, lifeless eyes and his body simply laying there like a ragdoll. Josh couldn't live with himself. Another death. You killed him. His blood is on your hands, the man that helped save you. Josh clutched the pillow tighter for solace, only realizing when it groaned that it wasn't an inanimate object.

"Can you not."

Joshua paused, opening his eyes to see an annoyed Tyler glaring at him. He didn't realize how fast his heart was breathing, or the sudden drop in temperature in the room. Tyler noted that his nightmares caused his hair to go blonde, and the room dropped drastically. He released his vice grip on the brunette, who only furrowed his eyebrows with concern. "You wanna talk about it?" His voice is soft, trying to figure out the right way to speak to Joshua. Their bare bodies still flushed together faces centimeters apart.

Josh's jaw clenched, eyes cast down. He did. He really did, but he couldn't. Every time he tried to speak about the incident his throat clenches and his eyes burn, not from rage, but from guilt and overwhelming sadness. Be couldn't do it.

Tyler took his silence as an answer. "C'mere." He pressed his face against Josh's collarbone, embracing him tighter as he inhaled his scent. Tyler understood. He knew what Josh was going through, experiencing, and not that he'd admit it -- but he read his thoughts often in times like these. He knew it was an invasion of privacy, Tom has done it plenty of times, but he couldn't help but wonder what his lover felt when he couldn't explain it himself. Josh melted into the embrace, he loved this. He loved Tyler. He knew just what Josh needed, despite his stubborn self. Always asking - making sure Josh was okay even at the times where he knew he wasn't.

They were interrupted by a knock at the door. Tyler didn't have to see to know who it was, the voice making itself known with an unreasonably loud tone. "Jenna's making breakfast! Come n' get it!"

Ripped from the swaddled serenity between the two, Josh pulled back enough to see Tyler's equally determined eyes. They both could practically taste the vegetable omelet she was creating. That was another adjustment, Jenna's cooking.

It was serious business.

When word got around that she had an elbow for cooking and baking, people couldn't get enough of it.
Tyler loved to be the very first when it came to receiving the food. And unfortunately, Josh does too. Josh was fast, so Tyler had to think fast if he was going to be the first for the veggie omelet.

In the blink of an eye, Tyler was fully clothed and fumbling to open the door. Just as quickly dressed, Josh stumbled over to yank back the brunette who only scowled before surging forward, chasing Joshua out the door and across the loft to the staircase.

Yawning tiredly before banging on another door, Tom froze instantly as he saw the couple basically flying down the stairs for the food. "Fuckin' idiots." He shook his head just as he saw Billie's unwelcoming expression as she opened the door. She too, saw the boys rushing downstairs. Having grown accustomed to their behavior, she rolled her eyes.

"Jen's makin' breakfast?"

Tom nodded his head as he heard Tyler swear loudly and Josh's taunting laughter.

"Yep."
