I rolled over in bed not waking up to Duke for the forth night in a row making me pissed. He was out every night this week but didn't want to tell me what was up and why he was so gone.
I looked over at my son sleeping peacefully instantly putting a smile on my face. His first birthday was fastly approaching and except for worry about that I had to worry about his stupid ass father. Whatever this nigga was chasing was deep, I didn't want to call Rodger cause I knew he wouldn't know. Duke didn't tell his business and Rodger didn't care to know unless it was affecting his money.
I slowly got out the bed making sure he was snuggled in the small bed so he wouldn't roll anywhere.
I yawned walking in the living room seeing Duke laid out on the couch with a bottle of Hennessy on the floor next to him. "Dumb ass." I mumbled rushing over to him grabbing a pillow from the couch. I smacked him dead on top of the head watching him pop up. "Fuck was that for?" He rubbed his head clearly hung over. "Nigga what the fuck is wrong with you coming in so late?!" I yelled making him cringe and ball up.
"Man what you loud for? Last I checked I'm grown and handling my responsibilities." He slurred rubbing the crust from his eyes. "And what? You tryna say I don't?!" I got in his face so he could feel me yelling at his goofy ass. "All yo ass been doing for these past few days is not coming home to me and your son, now you drunk!"
He pushed me back making me stumble. "Why you so fucking loud?" He asked. "Touch me again nigga and me being loud is going to be less than a problem." He laughed lazily walking to the kitchen opening up the fridge.
"You about to lose the one thing that's been here for you." I turned around storming off to the bedroom. I opened up the closet grabbing all his shit throwing it on the bed. It was his place but he was the one that was finna go.
"Man fuck you doing?" He tried snatching the clothes but I moved away. "You leaving nigga until you get yo shit together." I threw a shoe at him but he ducked making it hit the wall. "Man put my shit back, we can talk about this." He tried grabbing me but I pushed his drunk ass off of me. "You sad." I shook my head not even recognizing this man anymore at the moment. "I'm not going no fucking where, we finna talk about this!" He gripped my arm tight snatching me forward to him.
"Stop! You're hurting me!" I tried moving out of his grip but he only pressed down harder. Jayceon woke up crying making me look over at him. "Get off of me!" I yelled smacking him in the face. He shoved me against the wall making me hit my head against the wall. I felt the back of my head making sure there was no blood.
"B-baby I'm sorry." He walked up trying to help me up but I pushed him as hard as I could making him fall back into the dresser. The lamp came crashing down hitting his fat ass head making me feel better. He rubbed the top of his head as I grabbed anything in site stuffing it in my backpack and grabbing a few outfits for my baby.
"Don't leave." He plead but at this point that nigga was over with. I was seeing William in him and it scared me to even think of him that way.
I stepped over him quickly before he grabbed my leg closing the door behind me. He was battling demons he didn't want help with so I was letting him do just that.

"We staying with your cousin Allen for a little while." I smiled unfastening him out his seat watching him smile. He understood me, I didn't care what anyone said. We had a deep connection, he knew how to cheer his mommy up.
"There go my baby." Allen walked out the door barefoot with cotton balls between his pink toes making me laugh.
"Thanks for letting us stay Allen, I didn't mean to intrude on you and Danny." He laughed fanning it off. "Girl you family, you ain't intruding nothing. If that was the case I would've never answered that phone call." I laughed handing him the baby bag and my backpack.
We walked in the house and Danny was sitting there on the couch watching the football game. "Boy getchoo feet off my good wooden table!" Allen went over there smacking him with the paper making me laugh. "Damn, that's all you had to say." He hurried up and took his feet off rubbing his head.
"Well I been saying it and I'm tired of saying it." He fussed walking to the kitchen. "I'll go get a blanket from the closet so he can lay up and play." "Thank you." He smiled walking off.
I looked around their house impressed, they moved just because a lot happened in Allen's old place that left a hurtful mark. It was big enough for them and whatever guest they choose to have over.
"Mmm, mmm!" Jayceon fussed trying to get down like his little ass could actually walk. "No boy!" I pulled him back up but he only tossed and turned.
"Lemme see him, I ain't held him in forever." Danny got up with open arms and a smile. "Boy y'all seen us last week." We both laughed. "Still a long time." He held Jay in the air spinning around slowly.
"He don't wanna be in your face." Allen came back in with the small blanket. "Mind yo business." Danny smacked his lips pushing Allen's arm. "Boy keep on." He laughed fanning the blanket out. I laid him down tossing a few toys near him for him to play. "Since you wanna play with the baby then stay here while me and Amari talk." He grabbed my hand racing upstairs before Danny could reject to it.
We slowed down laughing as we made it to the bedroom. "You know you be doing that man wrong." He laughed fanning himself. "Girl no I don't. He always wants to see the baby so I'm letting him." He sat down next to me. "Y'all ain't never thought about adoption?" He shook his head looking down.
"I mean we have but its never really been in the works to do so. I mean what them people gone think about me and Danny raising a child? Those people still don't accept the LGBT community let alone us raising a child. I know a few who've done it but the process was longer due to that, you know they'll try to find any little petty thing on you just for you not to have the child." I nodded understandingly because it was true. Men like Danny and Allen had it tough at the end of the day.
"Enough about us. Girl what is up with you and Duke? Why you over here and not loving on your man?" I lightly chuckled rolling my eyes. "This not the first day Allen, he's been like this all week now. He hasn't been coming home at night but the next day and every time I mention it he gets offensive. I don't think it's cheating but I feel like that nigga got into some deep shit. Money is all he talks about and he was laid up on the couch this morning drunk. We got into it, he pushed me so I pushed him back. Before shit became more physical I grabbed some clothes for me and the baby and now we here."
He shook his head apologetically. "Baby I wish Danny would come home drunk and rude, I'll beat his ass up." I laughed as he rubbed my back. "It just feels like everything is on me Allen and I can't do anything about it. The way he shoved me only made me think about how William use to be and I hate to see him like that. This nigga close to losing us and don't even know it." He pulled me in for a hug instantly making me cry.
"Well let's hope he gets his shit together before it ever comes to that. He's just lost right now sweetheart and he needs a hand whether he says it or not. Put your foot down but don't turn your back on him." I nodded my head still crying in his arms. Allen always knew what to say.
There's trouble in paradise 💔 i really hope Duke gets it together before he loses family and friends over this money...
