19 YEARS LATER DUDLEY DURSLEY

Chapter 9

Dudley's POV

The kids all came running down the stairs at 100mph,and sat at the table. They were talking and laughing together. It made me smile, knowing that Amelia would have friends at Hogwarts. she was talking to lily and Hugo and smiling and laughing and talking about Hogwarts and all different things that existed in the magical world.

"Dad did you hear about the houses that you get sorted into when you first go? I mean it just sounds amazing, a talking hat I mean whoa!" Amelia said very excitedly.

"No I've not heard of these houses darling," I said

"Tell me all about them!"

So she started explaining.

"Well there are 4 different houses each named after a different famous witches and wizards that found the school, the houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. They all sound cool but I like the sound of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor the best!" she told me excitedly!

"That sound great honey," I said back to her a she smiled at me and then went back to talking to lily and Hugo.

About 5 minutes later the dinner was ready and we all stated eating, it was nothing fancy just lasagne and then chocolate cake for dessert. it was delicious.

"Ginny this is absolutely lovely," said Saskia.

"How did you make this lasagne it is the best I have ever tasted!" she exclaimed.

"Well it's my mums secret recipe, but I'm sure you could come over one day and I could teach you?" She suggested

"Oh that would be great" Saskia replied smiling. It also made me happy that Saskia would make new friends as well as Amelia. Saskia was very quite, she always had been, even when I first met her she hardly spoke, it took her a while to come out her shell.

Harry was deep in conversation with Ron about what I'm guessing is their jobs. I decided to ask what everyone did in the Wizarding world.

"So what does everyone do for a living?" I asked

Harry was the first to reply,

"Well Ron and I both work at the ministry of magic and we work as "aurors he said smiling at me.

I looked at him with a very confused look on my face, so did Saskia and Amelia. Hermione must of realised that we had no clue what he was talking about so she helped us out.

" Aurors are dark wizard catchers," she said kindly, as we still looked a bit confused she helped us out some more.

"They are like police men but in the Wizarding world,"she explained. It made more sense now, we all nodded.

"What about you Hermione,?" I asked

"Well I work as a healer," she replied and continued to explain further.

"It's like a nurse, I work at a hospital called St. Mungo's," Amelia wanted to find out more.

"What sort of injuries do witches and wizards get?" she asked.

"Well the most common injury is when a spell has went wrong or if you have been hit with a bad curse," Hermione explained.

"But there are lots more. I've got an idea," said Hermione

"Why don't you come with me to my work one day Amelia and you can see what it's like?" Hermione asked, looking at me and Saskia to make sure it was ok.

But before we could say anything Amelia jumped in and started talking again!

"Yes yes yes yes yes I would love to!" she said excitedly.

"Well we'll arrange it with your parents and you can come anytime!" she said.

"Ginny what do you do for a living?" I asked.

"Well I used to play quiddich, it's a sport played on a broomstick, but once I had lily I stopped, so now I am a writer for the quiddich collum for the daily prophet and I also commentate in quiddich matches sometimes," she told us.

"What do you and Saskia do in the muggle world,?" Ginny asked us.

"Well I'm a firefighter, it means that when there is a fire somewhere then they will call 999 and we will go and save people and put out the fire!" I told them.

"I am a primary school teacher," said Saskia. She got some confused looks so she continued to explain.

"In the muggle world before you start secondary school you go to a primary and they teach you all the basics, but I'm about to start maternity leave soon so then I will have nothing to do!"she explained.

After everyone had finished dinner we all went and sat through the living room and had some drinks. Then it was time to leave.

"You must come to our house soon," Saskia said and everyone agreed. We all said our goodbyes and left for the drive home.
