(writers note) I put a god of war reference lets see if you can find it while reading if your a god of war fan like I am. also the video at the top was what inspired me to write this, I had just found this today and it gave me so many ideas but I decided on writing this because of the song.
Sam starts her day like she usually does, put on a bunch of makeup, gets dressed and grabs a coffee on her way to school. On her way there she catches up with a few of her friends, while talking with them she notices a winged shadow fly right over her, what in the world was that? Was it a jet? No it couldn't have been they don't even fly close enough to cast a shadow. Sam just chalks it up as deja vu and arrives at the entrance of Andvari high.
Sam looks around and sees many groups of students talking or on their phones just hanging out, but notices a hooded figure sitting in a tree alone. That's not aminouse in any way, although I should go see who it is.
Sam goes over to the cloaked figure, it was a girl sitting in the tree reading by herself, she was wearing a black hood with a bit of a lump in the back of the hood and beautiful golden eyes.
"Uh hi there." Sam waves and the girl just glances at sam and back to her book, okay a bit weird "What's your name?" she just stares at her book not taking any notice to sam she turns her page, I'm getting tired of the silent treatment. Sam decides to climb up to the branch the girl was sitting on and slips a few times in the process but is able to hoist herself up, the girl just arches her legs trying to ignore sam.
Sam looks over the book, covering the pages with both her hands the girl looks up at Sam annoyed, I didn't know gold could be an eye color "Hey what's up? Your sitting here alone and not hanging around with anyone else. Are you okay?"
The gold eyed girl yanks her book from Sam's hands and drops off the tree branch rolling on to the ground and walking away from the tree Sam looks at her in curiosity as she walks away making no sound or looking back at all. She leans forward "Hey come back please. I just wanted to ta- WOAH!" Sam slips off the branch flailing her arms her hand comes in contact with something and she hears a grunt, Sam clutches her eyes shut while she waits for her body to hit the ground but it never came because the girl had caught her.
Sam opens her eyes with her hands scrunched up against her chest she looks up to the gold eyed girl who had caught her, the girl had an eye closed and a hand mark on her face "Shit I'm so sorry! I must've slapped you when I was falling." Sam touches the girls face gently making her hiss, her hood moves off her head a little revealing something gray and rough underneath.
Sam moves her hand further up the girls face but before she could get far enough to see what was under her hood the girl gently slides her hands from underneath her back and sets her down by the trunk of the tree, walking off again the girl picks up her book and leaves turning behind the school. Sam gets up and chases after her wanting to know more about the mysterious girl but when she turns the corner the girl was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey Sam!" Sam's friend Celes scares Sam from behind "What ya doin?" Sam looks back down the back of the school one last time and walks away with her friend "Nothing. I just thought I saw a flying squirrel and thought it went behind the school." that was enough to silence Celes on the subject and the bell rang for the start class.
Sitting down at her desk the math teacher announces that we had a new student in the class... it was the golden eyed girl that caught her earlier, this is just painfully convenient. "Would you like to introduce yourself to the class?" the girl slightly shakes her head and quietly walks to a seat in the back of the class.
The class goes on and usually Sam's math teacher calls on everyone in the class at least once but he didn't call on the new girl, odd. The gold eyed girl wasn't in any of Sams other classes so far but then lunch came around, Sam looks around for the black hooded girl wanting to thank the girl for catching her.
"SAM! Over here!" her friend Celes was waving to come sit with her, goddamnit Celes do you have to draw so much attention? Sam goes over and sits down next to her friend who was already scarfing her sandwich down.
"Hey Celes have you seen a black hooded girl in any of your classes?" she swallows the food in her mouth and whips her mouth with her sleeve "You mean the new girl? Ya she's in one or two of my classes but she kinda just disappears after each class." Sam looks at her friend with a concerned face.
Once lunch ends Sam continuously tries to find the hooded girl but couldn't find her in anymore of her classes or during the switch between the periods. It was only once the school day ended that Sam finds the hooded girl walking out the back entrance of the school, "Hey Celes I just remembered I need to stay and finish up a late project for science." Sam leaves her friend and runs to catch up to the hooded girl before she could get to far.
Sam follows the girl out of the school, she didn't know why she cared so much but she was determined to thank this girl and maybe even get to know her. Suddenly the girl just turns halfway down the side of the railroad and walks through a dead forest of trees and just stops at a tree with a single branch that had an old tarp on top of it. Sam hides behind a huge tree and watches the girl as she begins to climb her way up the tree and rests herself on the old branch she pulls out her book again.
She opens it and begins to read while Sam just watches in astonishment, she doesn't have a home... the girl looks left then in Sam's direction who quickly hides behind the tree. Sam slinks down the trunk of the tree staring at the ground scattered with broken and dead leaves, then the girl starts to sing suddenly'
"There's no hate. There's no love. Only dark skies that hang above. I call your name as I walk alone. Send a signal to guide me home. Light the night up, you're my dark star. And now you're falling away..." Sam curls up on the ground and listens to the voice of the girl who hadn't spoken a word to her or anyone else... it was beautiful.
Sam sat there as the girl began to sing once more Sam quickly pulls out her phone and puts it on record "But I found in you, what was lost in me, in a world so cold and empty. I could lie awake just to watch you breath, in the dead of night you went dark on me. You're the cause, the antidote. The sinking ship that I could not let go. You led my way then disappeared, how could you just walk away and leave me here? Light the night up you're my dark star, and now you're falling away." she pauses again for a while and closes her book curling up just like Sam.
Sam gets up and moves from tree to tree trying to get closer while the girl is distracted "But I found in you what was lost in me, in a world so cold and empty. I could lie awake, just to watch you breath, in the dead of night you went dark on me." Sam stops and stands behind another large tree transfixed by the incredible voice of the once seemed shut in.
Sam once again slinks down to the floor listening to the girl... she starts to cry. Why is it I find someone who I really want to thank and be friends with is homeless? It explains why she doesn't talk to anyone she's used to being alone with just her books and crazy thoughts.
Sam sits there for what seemed to be hours listening to all the songs the girl sings while she recorded them on her phone she suddenly stops and Sam looks back to where the girl was, looks like she fell asleep it is pretty late I should probably get home- she looks at her phone and looks back at the girl, but I don't want to leave her here by herself.
Sam pulls out an old ipod and some ear cuff headphones and takes off her jacket setting them down in the front of the tree the girl was sleeping on, I promise I'll find a way to help her.
Sam walks away and back home while she constantly looks back the way she had came, her feelings towards the girl growing stronger and stronger with each step she took.
