After Produce 101 Season 1&2's, Produce 48's and Produce X 101's great success, MNET has revealed plans for their newest survival reality show called "Produce 1+1"!
Until now there's not much known about this show other than one detail an insider, who reportedly works on the show, told us: This time, the contestants won't fight alone but in teams of two!
This information leaves plenty of room for speculations! But we are sure we'll get answers to our many questions soon!

As predicted, we didn't have to wait long for new information about MNET's next season of the Produce-series!
In an official statement regarding their new show, MNET has confirmed the rumors of Produce 101 Season 5 being all about couples! This statement surely has every Kpop-fan on their toes! While there have been multiple shows surrounding pretend-relationships and marriages (We Got Married for example), it's a first for this concept being implemented in such a large scale.
We are even more excited now and can't wait until the concept of this show is revealed!

Finally, after more than 1 1/2 months of waiting, we know the exact concept of MNET's fifth season of Produce 101!
While MNET kept us waiting for new information about their show for quite some time now, they weren't doing nothing as it seems! They now have released a very elaborate statement explaining every detail. We summarized the most important bits for you down below!
Q: What exactly is this couple-thing about? Are they really going for a We Got Married XXL version? A: Weirdly enough, they are not! Although we were expecting exactly that, 101 couples fighting against each other to win a trophy and the title as "Best Couple" or something, it doesn't seem like they are going for it. MNET explained the theme for this season is "friendship", a purely platonic relationship.
Q: Who will participate in this show? Trainees again? A: Half no, half yes! This time, trainees AND idols will compete alongside each other, though the idols are more like mentors and friends, instead of fellow contestants.
Q: What exactly is this show's main goal? A: This season the TOP 9 trainees will get the chance to debut in a project group, just as IZ*ONE, Wanna One, X1 and I.O.I did before them! Though, they won't have to fight on their own this time. Every trainee will be paired with an idol who will help them improve their skills, mentoring them and giving them advice. Whether they'll also take part in evaluations and actual stages is yet to be announced.
