The beginning

I sighed as I finished putting the last of what seemed like hundreds of boxes in the u-haul. My mother came outside of the now empty trailer looking at it one last time.

"Are you sure you have everything Sky?" She asked as she looked at me before looking back inside to do one last check.

I wiped the beads of sweat coming down my forehead before nodding, "Yeah I'm positive." I said softly before hearing my mother close the door locking it for the last time.

I guess I should introduce myself huh? Well I'm Skyler Midnight, only child, senior in high school, and moving for the third time this year. Fun right? You're probably wondering why I've moved three times in the last year. Well to keep it short and sweet it's because my mother and her ass of a boyfriend usually screw things up for us to the point we get kicked out of our place and have to move to a new one.

I looked at the old trailer that we had lived in for the past four months before walking over to our old beat up Toyota and getting into the back seat. I hurried up and plugged my headphones in before putting them in my ears so I wouldn't have to hear my mom and her boyfriend fight on the 3 hour car drive.

As I turned on Spotify the song Lie Awake by SadGirl started to play in my ears; I leaned back in my seat before closing my eyes.

"This is totally going to suck." I said to myself as I thought about all the things that were going to go wrong at the new place.

***********

I lifted the last of my boxes and walked up the steps to my room. We were able to find a three bedroom house with two bathrooms which meant I had a bathroom all to myself for once. My bedroom was the last one down the hall and it was a decent size which I was thankful for since at the last place my room was only big enough for my full size bed.

I sat the boxes I had been holding in the corner with the rest before plopping down on my mattress which was on the floor at the moment since I needed to buy a new bed frame. I grabbed my I-phone and looked at all the messages I had from my friends who I had just left behind.

Anna

"I can't believe you're moving again!!! You just got here! You should've  just moved in with me since my parents love you more than your own mom."

Which was actually true.

Jack

"Woooow just left without a goodbye? Okay I see how it is."

Emily

"Going to miss you so much!! You're the only one that made me feel like I'd belonged in the group."

Yes I had left without saying goodbye but it was only because I knew if i did that i was going to break down and ugly cry in front of them and I can't do that. Plus by now i know the best way to do goodbyes and its over text so you aren't able to see their sad expressions.

I didn't bother answering them since it was already midnight and I was tried as hell. I stood up and grabbed my pillows and blanket and threw them on my bed before walking over to one of the boxes that said "clothes" and opened it up. Luckily I had opened the one that had my tank tops and shorts in it. I quickly grabbed blank shorts and a purple tank top before stripping out of my jeans and t-shirt.

Once I was finally comfortable I climbed into bed and grabbed my phone getting onto the dating app "Match". Yes I know I'm 17 and shouldn't be on one but with moving around so much made it hard to make friends/have a dating life. Besides I didn't get on it so ha!

I looked through a few of the guys who had sent me messages which most of them were boring or sexual like.

"Hi." , "Hey.", "Let's hook up.", "God you're hot.", "I would love to fuck you babygirl.", and ect.
