A tall, strongly built man wearing an off white dress shirt and a black tie with a black sweater vest walks into classroom number 134. He walks up to the front of the classroom while ruffling his honey blond hair. His maple brown eyes look over his papers, then he clears his throat.
"Hello class, I am Mr. Holloway," he says while lowering his papers, " Why don't you all introduce yourselves to me with your name and what you did over the summer," he requests with a smile. He watched them as they were talking about their summer, until he spotted a person sitting in the back wearing a white hoodie with their head lying down on the desk. Being curious about why they have their head down he gave the students free time after the last person was finishing. When he walks to the person in the back he gets stares from some of the students. When he reaches the person he taps their shoulder and waits for them to look up at him. The person slowly takes off their hood and looks at him with sleepy cinnamon eyes.
"Do you need something Mr. Holloway?"
He freezes looking at her short warm reddish blonde hair with bangs framing her small heart shaped face it looked too familiar to him. " Fern, is that you?"
"Uh, Mr. Holloway my name isn't Fern, it is Angel, Angel Exspiravit," she clarifies as he wonders who Fern is.
"Oh my apologies Angel," he sighs "you just looked familiar."
Lyric hears people whispering "Who is he talking to?" "Is he crazy?!" Rage fills him thinking that they hated Angel but he calmed down when he saw her face full of fear. He didn't even realize that he was glaring at her because of the whispers. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't trying to glare at you something just made me angry."
"It's fine Mr. Holloway," she gives a small smile, "you just scared me a little bit."
"Good, I wouldn't want such a-" the bell rings interrupting his sentence. "Goodbye, Angel enjoy the rest of the day!" he says happily to her as she is leaves the room. He sighs, she looks so much like my little sister.
Time felt painfully slow as Lyric waits for lunch so he could see Angel again. He walks around the lunch room to find her but he didn't, if she isn't in the lunch room then she has to be in the locker area, he thinks while running to the lockers. He finds her sitting up against a locker, drawing in a sketchbook. "What'cha drawing there Angel?" he asks her with a playful tone.
She squeaks not expecting anyone to be at the lockers.
"I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to eat lunch with you," he apologizes.
Angel cocks one of her eyebrows up, "then wear is your lunch Mr. Holloway?"
"You can call me Lyric and I, uh kind of forgot my lunch," he replies while rubbing his hand on his neck bashfully, "I also wanted to talk to you because you are so interesting."
"Okay, what are we going to talk about?" she asks as she closes her sketchbook to give him all of her attention. They talked for the whole lunch period.
All that Lyric could think about was how much Angel reminded him of his younger sister. Remembering his sister, Fern made him feel sad because she had died in a vehicle accident not too long ago. He became depressed after that and he couldn't get out of bed to go to his job. He lost his last teaching job for missing too many days. He just got over her death recently but Angel made him remember Fern again. That made him a little protective of her.
All of a sudden he remembers the girls that were not being very nice to Angel and becomes upset. To calm down he decides to talk with his coworker Ms. Susan Reredrum to help him calm down.
"Hello Lyric what brings you here?" Susan asks with a slight blush on her pale face while pushing back her black curled hair.
"I just wanted to talk with someone to get this anger of of my chest," he states with a frown.
She motions him to sit down in front of her, "Oh, was it one of your students that has angered you?"
"It was a few of them and they were being mean to another student," he growls replaying what happened this morning.
"I wish I could help you but it is normal for students to be slightly mean to each other,"she admits with a frown.
"I know but they were being mean to such a good student," he says sadly. They continue to talk about it until Lyric has calmed down. He decides to leave and get his stuff to head home. He starts to walk to his apartment when suddenly he sees Susan and the girls that were mean to Angel. That looks so suspicious, Lyric thinks as he follows them through Detroit's dark spots. Susan and the students stop at the end of an alley. Lyric hides behind the wall near the alley watching to see what happens.
Susan brings out a knife and stabs the two girls that were with her. Lyric watches the whole thing with a smirk then after it was done he called 911 to arrest Susan. He is treated as being a witness of the murder.
The next day Lyric seemed a little too happy considering what just happened yesterday. Angel becomes suspicious of him so she pokes around school and finds out from the janitor that Lyric hypnotized Ms. Susan.
The lunch bell rings which makes Lyric jump up to find Angel. Once he gets to her she is glaring at him.
"Hello Mr. Holloway," she sneers.
"You're calling me Mr. Holloway Angel, I'm hurt," he pretends to weep.
"You hypnotized Ms. Reredrum and sent her to kill those girls, why did you do that," she cried.
Lyric's attitude did a complete 180, "Ms. Exspiravit I advise you not to say things like that," he chuckles darkly, "It could get you into some serious trouble."
Angel starts to speed walk away but Lyric caught her. She ties to get out of his grip but then she notices that there is something that is glinting in his right hand. She freezes when she realizes that it is a kitchen knife.
"I would hate to have to use this on you Angel," he pouts, "but I will if you make me."
"You are not going to use that on me," she threatens trying to get out of his grip again she pulls him and she gets accidentally stabbed in the gut.
"No, Angel!" Lyric cries out with tears starting to spill out of his eyes. He apologizes repeatedly until his voice becomes hoarse. He calls 911.
"This is 911 what's your emergency?"
"I killed her, I killed Angel," he confesses with a sad voice.
"What is your location, sir?"
"Altum High School."
" Please stay there, the police and ambulance are on their way."
Lyric hangs up waiting for the them to arrive.
When the police came with Principal Frank they saw a puddle of blood coming from Lyric. They heard him muttering something to himself but they didn't understand what he was saying.
"Where is the body?" asks one of the policemen.
Lyric looked at him with disbelief, "You don't see her?! She's right in front of you!" he shouts.
"Woah calm down sir. Answer this for me, do you know the victim's name?" the policeman asks.
"Her name is Angel Exspiravit."
"Mr. Holloway there is no Angel Expiravit going to Altum high school," principal Frank says feeling worried about Lyric's mental health.
"No, you are wrong there is an Angel Exspiravit I've seen her and I killed her, I killed HER, I KILLED HER!" he screams while waving the knife around cutting himself in the process.
The policeman pulls out his taser and tases Lyric so he would stop. They watch as he drops the knife and falls to the floor shaking.
"Someone put some cuffs on this psycho!" the policeman that tased Lyric yells. The other police man grabs his handcuffs and slaps them on Lyric's wrists. They carry him out to a police car and drove straight to a mental hospital where he will be taken care of until he is back to normal again.
