----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The morning air was cool against my already goose-pimpled skin, allowing a shiver to rack my body. The mauve blanket wrapped around my slender frame as it entwined comfortably between my bare legs; the only position in which I could actually get some sleep in.

I kicked the blankets off my legs, letting it fall into a pool of fabric at my feet. My eyes felt like they had large bags underneath them and my legs didn’t feel quite awake yet.

Morning’s sucked.

Making my way over to the mirror, my suspicions were proven correct; my normally bright, chest nut eyes were a dull off brown colour and lacked any sort of life and there were light purple bags resting underneath them.

I was thankful I didn’t have a boyfriend for he would probably dump me if he saw me in this state; I was even surprised Liam was still proud to call me his twin. The low hum of the water pipes let me know that Liam was occupying the shower.

Letting out a heavy sigh, I took the advantage of time wasting to eat breakfast.

“Mum?” I called, wondering if she was home from their business trip. Our parents owned big companies and hotel all around the world which led them to a whole heap of travelling leaving Liam and I to fend for ourselves for weeks on end, not that we were complaining.

Pouring the milk into my cereal was becoming an everyday thing now; I was never a breakfast person. Surprisingly, it actually helped me get through the struggle of High School.

That was a slight lie though, High School had never been a struggle for Liam and I.

We were the Payne twins, everybody knew us in Dudley, taking into consideration that it was a relatively small town.

‘The Paynes’ as people called us, we’re like teen royalty; don’t get me wrong, it was highly flattering and sure, Liam and I had become a little cocky over the whole thing but you couldn’t blame us really.

Ever since we moved here people have been talking, all good things though. We weren’t the stereotypical kids, we were actually kind and respectful. We’re both 17 and proud virgins; I hadn’t even kissed a boy let alone had sex.

That’s what was so fascinating about us apparently, we had such self-respect that people thought very highly of us.

That’s the way we’d like to keep it.

“Liam, get out of the shower!” I thudded my fists on the bathroom door and pressed my ear against it, waiting for a reply.

“Two seconds!” Liam’s deep voice muffled through the thick walls.

“You said that 20 minutes ago, hurry up. We’re going to be late!” I shouted before hitting the door again.

Liam groaned as the quiet whir of the water pipes came to a silent halt. He walked out with the white European towel hanging off his hips, grumbling about it being a ‘short shower.’

Liam also, wasn’t a morning person.

The hot beads of water fell freely down the crevices of my body, I spun the head of the shower to massage and let it pay extra attention to my aching shoulder blades, many thankyou’s to dancing for that.
