Alex POV:

*Door rings*

"Hey guys!" I'm more than elated to see my friends after a rough week of school. Being Pre-med is not all that people have cracked it up to be. But none of that matters because it is football season. And everything in this town gets shut down every second Saturday of the Fall semester.

Let's just say- I need a break from school, and this is the perfect getaway.

I'm so happy to have my friends around. Brittany, my roommate, is a blessing in my life and one of the only people who understands me.  Aaron and Dale come as a package most of the time and are too goofy guys who always manage to make my day brighter.  Ever since that one night the four of us went skinny-dipping in our school's fountain, I have felt at home with them.  I am so excited to share all the new experiences college has to offer with them by my side.

Also, tonight is the Demi Lovato concert after our game.  I am so excited to see her, and I honestly have a bit of a girl-crush on her.  Well, it's more than a girl-crush.  It's a real crush.  What nobody knows is that I am as gay as they come, but I struggle thinking about it myself, let alone telling anyone else.  Demi's lyrics ring through my head,

"Got my mind on your body and your body on my mind,  Got a taste for the cherry I just need to take a bite."

Demi has helped me come to terms with my sexuality, and I honestly could never repay her for that.

"Hey. You good?" I hear Brittany whisper into my ear. I realize I've drifted off and am, officially, NOT the life of the party.

"Yeah, I am just excited about tonight!" I chirp back.

"Let's go watch some football!" I hear Aaron exclaim, and we all start walking out the door, chugging our drinks to get rid of them.

Ugh, he's such a dork.

Demi's POV:

I still don't quite get where management is going with this.  When I said I needed to focus on staying healthy and sober after the incident last year, a college tour wasn't what I was expecting.

I do get to perform which is great, but they want me to travel less.  So, I will be staying in each town we visit for a full week.  I'm allowed to write; I'm allowed to sing and dance and have fun, but my focus has to remain on sobriety.  So, I'm hoping to try to blend in at each school and just live the life of the average college kid minus the partying. It almost seems counter-productive to stick me in college towns with a bunch of alcohol-crazed 20-year-olds, but I trust myself enough to let this go.  Hopefully, it will make me slow down and enjoy the scenery for a bit with people closer to my age instead of constantly being around 40-something-year-olds all the time.

I'm currently in Florida, and I watch the football game happening in front of me.  I come from a big football family, but college football is just so different from the NFL.  I try to pay attention (the kids around here REALLY care about this sport), but I end up dozing off with my elbows rested on my knees and my face in my hands.

I get jolted awake by my manager.  "Hey, it's time for hair and makeup," he says tenderly.  I groan but stand up and start going through the pre-concert motions.  This should be a fun one.  I haven't performed since July of last year, and I am just so ready to be back out there!

Keep reading, I promise it gets better.  I'm just awkward af right now trying to introduce the characters.

Let me know what you think!

This is my first story, so I'm just really excited to start trying this stuff out!

Love y'all <3
