I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. How could Natsu say that?! He doesn't even care.

-earlier-

It was about 5 months after lisanna's death and we were all finally starting to get back on our feet. I was waiting for Natsu to come back so we could go on a mission together because we hadn't done one together for a while, and he made me promise to go on one with him soon. We had spent a fair bit of time apart from each other since we had both been doing a lot of jobs to get more money.

Natsu has been on a mission for a week and a half with happy and I was getting sick of waiting for them so I decided to take Luna on a mission with me to pass some time. We found a mission with a large reward and decided to take it, not expecting it to be a long one considering it was relatively easy.

As Mira was on a mission with Elfmam cleaning out a library I told master that I was going, he was absolutely smashed and probably wouldn't remember what I said but at least we told him we were going.

"I'm going on a mission master" I say showing him the flyer.
"Okay child, be safe" he slurs his words and waves goodbye, I walk out of the guild with Luna on my head determined to finish the job quickly.

The mission was completely different from what the flyer had suggested, and instead of being a simple, 2 day max job it went for much longer than both of us had thought it would, we were away nearly 2 months before we even got close to fighting the devils we were meant to defeat.

Everything was going well, after being away for 2 and a half months we finished the job, relatively unscathed apart from a few mishaps, we went and got our reward so we could finally go home. We decided when we got back would go eat a fancy meal since we deserved it after working so hard, and then would relish in sleeping in our own bed for the first time in what felt like forever.

"I'm so exhausted (y/n)!" Luna whines as she rests on my head once again.
"Me too, I have practically no magic energy left" I sigh softly, giggling in a tired tone to the sleepy exceed, the two of us were making our way home after finishing our dinner.
"How about we stop here for the night and rest?" I ask looking at the forestry around us.
"Awh man, I really wanted to sleep in our own bed" she pouts.
"Tell me about it, but I don't think I'll be able to walk all the way home tonight" I sigh disappointedly.
"Sounds good to me I guess" Luna says and flies off my head, dropping to the floor.

We sit down, place all of our things on the ground and sigh in pain, the blistered forming on my heels were slowly starting to get to me.
Since it was spring it was a little too cool for our liking so I decided to go start a fire to warm us up for the night.

"I'll be back Luna, I'm going to go get some wood" I say and heave myself off the ground once again.

After I get deeper into the forest I start to pick up all sorts of dried wood and sticks. Ignoring the aching feeling in my body I stacked the pile high in my arms so I don't have to come back for more and begin to walk to our set up camp. I drop all the sticks in the middle of the clearing in the forest where Luna was sitting and sigh, dropping to the ground from exhaustion once again.

"I'm soooooooo tired" I groan out, feeling my body slowly relax against the soft floor.
"Me too" She says and waddles over to me, dropping beside me and leaning up against me, using me as a pillow.
We both begin to assemble the small camp fire stick by stick and before long it is suitable to light.
I use the last of my magic power to light the small fire, it slowly takes off. As the flame grows I feel myself relaxing more and more into the ground.

"I'm going to fall asleep if I don't go to bed now" I say yawning, spread out on the floor enjoying the warmth.
"Me too, sleep well (n/n) Ill see you in the morning" Luna yawns as well and cuddles up next to me.
"You too Luna, sweet dreams" I say and shut my eyes.
