Love Across the Stars {Doctor Who Story}

Chapter 2

"So, can you tell me a bit about yourself, Alli?" The Doctor said.

"Why?" I asked, standing at the TARDIS screen.

"Well," he said, "I normally just tell everyone to run because there's complete danger and I don't get to know them all that well."

"Ok," I said, thinking about what I could say. "Oh! Where I grew up, oh those silver leaves. Me and Alex, this girl I met when I was about 4, would pick them and put them on the mountains. When the sun rose, it made the leaves look like a ruby on fire."

His eyes widened. "Do you remember the name of it? And when did you live there?"

"I lived there," I paused, trying to remember, "when I was about two. It was called G- um, it starts with a G but I haven't been there in about 10 years."

He asked, "Was it maybe Gallifrey?"

"Yes!" I said. "That's what it was."

"You grew up there?" He asked.

"Yep!" I said. "Both my hearts love it and miss it."

"Both hearts?!" He said, a little shocked.

"Maybe that was a bad way to start," I muttered to myself. "Yes, I have two hearts. I'm a Timelord and so are you."

He widened his eyes. "How did you know?!" He said, a little scared now.

"The TARDIS, duh!" I said.

"So," he said, trying to change the subject, "where are we headed?"

"Cardiff," I said, "present day Cardiff. Your TARDIS hasn't been charged in 3 years, really?"

"Don't sass me! And yes really I've been busy. What else are going to do, pick up a companion for me to handle more than you?"

I looked at him. "I can sass you if I want and I feel if one Timelord can have a companion, another can. Can we just pick up my TARDIS from my parents? They're right next door to the future companion."

He sighed. "Okay. What's her name?"

"Rachel." I said. "Rachel Temple."

"Alright. To Cardiff." He said, not so excited.

"Way to be enthusiastic."  I said obviously sarcastically.
