Blood. It splashed the walls, Flooded the floor, covered the mangled remains of my parents, and soaked through my pajama pants as I sat and looked on in terror. Tears frozen in time, gathered at the edge of my eyes, but refused to fall. My hands, almost clasping my mouth, were suspended in mid-air before the gaping hole. Unable to scream I just stared at the shadowed figure. Blood ran down his rms and dripped off of his claws, it dried in his hair leaving odd clumps, and it poured from his mouth down his clothes and onto the floor. The dripping of blood was almost deafening in the absolute silence. I tried to move, but I couldn't. Suddenly, the figured moved with an inhuman amount of speed.

I rolled over and turned off my screaming alarm. My bed was warm and my fluffy blanket felt like heaven on my exposed legs and I knew as soon as I took my blankets off I would be cold do to the fact that only an oversized hoodie served as my pajamas. I sighed and slowly lifted the blankets off of myself, revealing my skin to the chilly air. I shivered and goosebumps raised on my pale legs. I stood up and made my way to the lavatory . My apartment was almost completely bare with only a few boxes filled with necessities scattered about and my bed. I was going to be moving into the dorm at my new school. It was a private school for gifted students, but not gifted in terms of high academics , great artistic skills, or godly athletic talent. No, this private school was for demons and ghouls and everything in between. It was a school of horror, My Horror Academia.

"We truly are so happy to have you here." The Headmaster smiled. "Although, there might be some issues with the other students, you understand, don't you?" He was a vampyric demon, so, his appearance was quite humanoid, apart from his white skin and gleaming, sharp canines. I nodded in response to his question. Of course I knew there were going to be problems, there was no "might be" about it. The Headmaster smiled more and his tongue flicked across his teeth. "Good. I have on of Horror Academia's most talented and trusted students looking after you. He should be arriving any moment and I do hope you two can be friends. After all, you'll be spending quite a lot of time together." He chuckled. I shifted in the old leather chair. It bothered me how happy he was. I silently begged for my escort to come. Just as the clock struck eight o'clock the office door opened. A boy looking around my age, with half white hair and half black hair with two different coloured eyes, one being a light grey and the other being a deep reddish purple, walked in.
"Hi, you must be Mackenzie! I'm Yuuki Mace!" He stuck out is hand, beaming. I stood and shook it.
"Enchanté." I greeted him and he grinned.
"Tu parler français?"
"Oui." I nodded. The Headmaster stood up, laughing.
"It seems you two are getting along well already, how splendid!" H looked at me and his eyes glowed slightly. I shifted again, his stare was unnerving. "You two should probably be getting to class though. Go run along now!" The Headmaster playfully shewed us off. Yuuki nodded at him and led me off down the hall.
"So, Mackenzie, are you excited?" He glanced over his shoulder at me. "Or nervous?"
"Both, I guess..." I answered quietly. He nodded.
"To be expected, but I'm sure it'll be alright. Our fist class is Ancient Languages." We made a right turn and were now in a smaller dark hallway. The door at the very end was where we stopped. Yuuki opened it for me. "here you go." He smile was sweet and soft. It was nice to know I had one friend, even if our friendship was a little forced. I stepped into the classroom and all eyes were on me. My heart skipped a beat. Everyone looked at me and most of them were cold hungry eyes, those of a wild predator. I swallowed hard, my mouth and throat had gone dry, and hurriedly made my way o the seat in the bac corner. The stares of my new classmates drilled little circular holes in my back as a traversed through piles of books and bags. I sat down and Yuuki sat down next to me on my right.
"Ignore them." He whispered. "They're just curious."
" This isn't my first time at a new school, I'll be alright." I smiled at him. He nodded, smiling as well. The rest of the day was the same as any other first day of school. Afterwards Yuuki led me to my dorm room and helped me unpack.

I sighed and flopped down on my bed. Soon, my vision faded out and I fell asleep.
