"Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!" My alarm ringed. "Ugh," I said unhappily. I was up all night like an owl. I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about what happened at work yesterday. Why did it have to be him? After all these years. Why him?
I realized that I had no time to waste. I have to prepare for the hike. It says on my phone that the bus will arrive in an hour, that means I have one hour to get ready. I rush to pick what to wear, what makeup should I put, and more. After all that I have to have breakfast. One thing to know about me is that I'm not a morning person.
"Okay, everything is checked and done so now all I have to do is wait."
10 minutes later
After waiting, the bus finally arrived
"Heya bestie! Get on boa...wait? Why do you have a huge 500-pound bag? Didn't you know that they supply us with all of the things we need in the daily life?" Jess asks,
"They did?" I ask,
*sigh* "Well, just put the giant bag away and GET ON BOARD!"
"Aye aye captain!" I put my bag away and run to the bus.
"You know, I am proud of you that you excepted this offer even when there are more surprises to come," Jess says in her cheeky, evil voice.
"I will kill you if they're bad, I say laughing.
2 Hours Later
We're about to arrive at the destination when suddenly someone on the bus starts yelling while everyone else is trying to sleep. I wanted to yell shut up! But I just didn't have it in me to say anything. I wish I had some confidence in me.
"Okay, we've arrived at our destination! Everyone, please wait to be called out then, you may scream outside that we finally made it." yelled the bus driver,
"Ugh, are we there yet? What time is it? Am I human?" Jess groans saying random things,
"Yes, yes we're here, so wake up you sleepy head!" I said annoyed from having a sore shoulder.
"Ugh, fine, chief!" Jess says angrily,
We take our handbags and head out of the bus after we were called and then I see someone I hoped not to see. It was Blake.
"Aw Hell Naw, Jessie, why invite him?" I asked,
"Well, you already know that he's Mike's best friend so he had to come along. And anyway you guys get to talk more now!" She answered happily,
I rolled my eyes and said, "You know I'll kill you for this!"
"Yeah I know," she replied in her evil way.
"Attention, please!" said the captain of our team, "Thank you, as you may know, we are the ones that have the hotel rooms and not the deluxe ones because of someone, " everyone unhappily starts staring at this poor innocent person who just thought that the bus arrives an hour later, "Anyway, before you all start groaning, you have to find your hike partner." the whole crowd was surprised but some were interested to see the outcome. "Don't worry, you'll all get someone that was in the team that you came in!" Everyone starts cheering happily as we all get in line to have our partners be 'specially chosen for everyone' which sounds really stupid if I do say so myself.
"Here's your number," said one of the volunteers,
"21, what am I supposed to do with this?" I asked,
"You are supposed to find someone else with that same number who will be in your team," he answered,
I started to walk away when Jessie suddenly runs into me.
"Hey Abby, check it out! I have a partner named ROY-G-BIV!" exclaimed Jess,
"That stands for Rebecca, Olympia, Yalanda, Gabriella, Brianna, Isabella, Veronica or ROY-G-BIV in short!" Roy explains,
"Um, just asking, is that just your first name?" I say confused
"Yeah, and my middle name is Roxanne, Aliyah, Irene, Nora, Blossom, Ovilia, Wendy or in short, RAINBOW." She answers,
"Interesting," I say,
"And my last name is COLOURS which is short for-"
"You know what, your name is really interesting but I think I need to find my partner before we have to start the hike. I wonder who's my partner?" I asked
"Looks like you're just about to find out," said Jess,
I look around to see someone holding out the number 21 and I was not happy with the result.
