Chapter 1: Here goes nothing

Brailey P.O.V.

"Come one Paisley, hurry up! Your gonna be late on your first day!" As always. Come on- did they really think she would change over the summer? Lets be realistic here.

"Mom can I go? I'm gonna be late too,"

"Brailey can u wait one second?! I just need to take a picture for the first day of your senior year. It won't take an hour." Mom lreplied.

"Mom, it's Paisley! She will take an hour to get 'positioned' for the picture." I said sarcastically.

"Brailey I know you wish you were me but haven't you ever heard the saying 'be yourself because everyone else is already taken'?" Queen Paisley, herself, speaks.

Paisley walks down the stairs after taking an hour and a half to get ready. She decides to wear a light blue dress with a white cardigan and sparkly silver shoes. It took that long to do that?!

"I would rather die than be you." I spat at her. Ha! Take that Paisley!

"Girls stop it! Can you guys just get together for one picture please!?" Mom asked.

"Whatever." Paisley and I replied in unison.

Paisley decided she wanted to take the picture outside, under the tree because 'it made her face look better'. Give me a break.

"Okay girls, 1,2,3, smile!!!!" And on the count of three Paisley decides to push me out of the picture.

"Paisley! Apologize to your sister!" Mom screamed.

"Sorry Brailey, you were in my way." Paisley mumbled the last part so mom wouldn't hear. Pathetic.

After what seemed like ten different photos, I was aloud to leave, leaving me ten minutes to get to school. Great. It usually took me ten minutes to get on the highway without traffic, nevermind ten minutes for school!

"Oh girls I forgot, your dad had to take one of the cars because he took his to the dealership to get his brakes fixed. You guys are gonna have to drive together."

"Are you kidding me?" I responded. I am not going to hear Paisley complain for another hour, I just couldn't take it.

"I call driving!" Paisley yelled.

Great. Check the first day of miserability off my list.

--------------------------

"Paisley will you please step on it? I'm gonna be late for the first day! " I complained.

"Bray, I'm going the speed limit, your not gonna be late. Why do you want to be there so early anyway?" Paisley asked.

"One: please do not call me Bray. Only people I like can call me that." I said, half-jokingly. " Two: it's the first day if school, and three: I have to meet the basketball coach before school starts so we can talk about tryouts this year. I may get to be the captain!"

"Really Brailey? Basketball? How about cheer leading, like me?!"

Cheer leading, really? Your one of the girls who wear skirts that barely cover up their butt and vest- type- things that are too tight and makes it hard for you to breathe? Ha, no thank you.

"I think ill pass...."

"We're here." Paisley replied.

"Great, when should meet up?" I asked.

"3:30."

"Why then? School ends at 3:00, not 3:30."

"Because if we meet at 3:00 then everybody will see us together and I can't lose the spot for captain. Alright? So meet me here at 3:30." Paisley said, walking away and leaving me behind.

"Yeah....... Okay." I muttered to myself.

Lets face it, Paisley has a lot more friends than I have but Paisley and I are twins. Aren't we supposed to be eachother's best friend? She can get on my nerves 99.9% of the time but I mean couldn't she at least met me for lunch or whatever? Huh. I guess not.

So here I am. Walking into high school on the first day, alone, for the fourth and hopefully final, last time. Here goes nothing....
