As I creaked open the porch door, I sighed. Another long year of oceanology, maybe I should just be an 8th grade teacher or something.

Marine biomes seemed like the right choice seeing how close we were to the sea, and my love for the ocean's environments but the workload is huge. With the marine study port right there, we were expected to complete several reports.

Noticing the lack of people inside the house, I snatched the shed key from its hook and walked out to the backyard.

Arriving at our old shed, I inserted the key and unlocked it's doors. Swinging them open, I coughed at the dust that flew off.

Stepping inside, I reached for the light switch which clicked on the myriad of fairy lights and lamps I had set up.

A desk had been pushed against one wall, under a single naked bulb, and on that wall just above, is a topographical map of the Atlantic Ocean.

Papers and atlases scattered the desk, covering most of the surface along with a few pens.

Setting down my backpack, I walked over to a dusty bookshelf.

Picking out an old, thick book, I set to work. The work that I'd been carefully carrying out for a week since I found the shed key.

All of my Mom's old stuff is kept in here and it would detrimental to solving her murder.

Oh and the book?
