The oddly dressed Sans stood there with his hand out in greeting.waiting for a response from the other Sans. Needle, confused by this shady character, his mind wild with thoughts and questions: Why have I never heard of him before? Has he always been here on this.. Where is this place? WHAT is this place? Needle cautiously raised his hand to squeeze his hand in response; a large fart sound is suddenly heard from between the two of them. Gemini grinned at the reaction he got,. "Heh heh, some things never get old."
"Indeed," Needle chuckles in reply, "what was your name again?"
"Gemini, as I already said." He wore a brown trenchcoat with a black shirt and grey pants, with a pair of black shoes. His eyes were "determined" red, which confused Needle at first. Gemini's smile was replaced with a slight frown. "How did you get here?"
"I, uh, was trying to create a new world, but I found your island in the space I was planning to build." Needle replied. 'I never heard of an island in the middle of nowhere so I decided to investigate."
Gemini raised an eyebrow. "Hm. Follow me."
Gemini begins to walk down the hallway at a rather swift pace leaving Needle to try and catch up.
The walls were a dark oak color, while the floor had the color of spruce wood. Torches lit the building, books are in every little nook and cranny on the inside of somewhat maintained shelves. The hallway has several openings into other rooms, each containing shelves stacked with books. There are shelves cut into the actual hallway, each shelf stacked with books of all different shapes, sizes, and color.
"So uh, what is this place?" Needle asked.
Gemini's gaze seemed distant and lonely. "This is a library, each book containing the entire story of one world, with a few exceptions, of course"
Needle's eyes widen. "Every alternate world?"
"Well, every world I've visited was recorded and documented," Gemini Answered. "I maintain the library and every book within it."
Needle and Gemini reached the end of the hallway, where they meet two stairways. One going left, one going right. Gemini takes Needle up the left stairway.
"But why record them?" Needle asks. "Couldn't you just visit all of these worlds?"
"If they're on the first floor, yes," Replied Gemini.
Needle gave him a very puzzled look.
"The Books on the first floor are worlds still in existence," Gemini sighed. "Any books on the second, third, or fourth floor are worlds that have been destroyed."
"D-destroyed?" Needle stammered. "by whom?"
"I don't know." Gemini answers. "Let's talk more in my office "
They reached the top of the stairs, where Gemini now lead him to his office.
A brown wooden desk in the middle, the walls between the door and the desk as shelves cut into the wall, full of books. There are a few books scattered on the desk. A yellow flower in a pot sits upon the desk Two cozy chairs sat next to the desk, one on each side and behind the desk were two tall windows; but where the glass would be instead was filled with even more books.
"Now," Gemini said, as he sat in his chair, "why did you decide to create a new world where my library dwells?"
Needle slowly sat down in the chair opposite of Gemini.
"Well, I've noticed a lot of the stars have been going out," Needle replied. "That didn't bode well for myself so I began to search for an empty area of the void. I thought I found one, but there was a small, dim star in the middle of the area. I checked it out, found this building, and you know the rest."
"So," says Gemini, "you wanted to create a new world because stars were going out?"
"Yes." Needle confirms.
"Do you know why they are going out?" Gemini asks.
"Is it Error?"
"Not Error. Someone, or something, new."
"Something new? Like what?"
"I don't know" Gemini responds, "But I believe that most of the worlds recorded within my library were destroyed by this entity."
Gemini stands up from the chair and turns to the window, his gaze looking out into the starry sky of the Multiverse.
"I...don't want any more worlds destroyed," Gemini replied grimly. "I'm going to go and try to find whoever is destroying these wonderful worlds."
"So what does this have to do with me?" He asked.
"Well, since you're here, I thought I could ask for your help in searching for this being. It clearly is an issue we both have to deal with. So why not an 'partnership'?"
They way Gemini said 'partnership' made Needle shudder.
"I don't see why not, but you need to answer a question," said Needle.
'What is your question?" Gemini asked politely.
"Your eyes."
"Pardon?"
"They're red. Monsters don't have red eyes. You would have to have gained a lot of L-O-V-E to have eyes that color, yet the color is determination red. Monsters cant use determination. So why can you?"
Gemini closed his eyes and chuckled. "Very good," he replied. "Allow me to show you."
Gemini closed his eyes and placed his hand on his chest. His chest began to glow as he carefully extracted his soul from his body. Gemini shows his soul to Needle. Half of the soul is white, while the other half is red.
Needle was surprised.
"You're....you're a hybrid?" Needle stammered.
"Yes," Gemini answered. "I am a fusion of a human and a monster, a story for another day. So will you help me now?"
"I guess," Needle replied
"Great. Before we can begin, we need one other person."
"Who would that be?"
"His name is Fantasy"
