fall in love with my heart,
not my eyes.
fall in love with my words,
not my face.
fall in love with the way i laugh,
not the way i please you.
don't fall in love
with the outside.
the outside is a shell,
skin-deep--
the ripples in a puddle after a rainfall.
the inside,
the fruits that the shell protects,
the waves in the ocean
during a storm.
the ripples in the puddle

that decide to fall
and float inside
of the puddle.
the waves in the ocean
effect all, from
the birds in the skies
to those below the surface,
where a whole other world lies.**word count: 115**
