You get a piercing - Luke

Today was the day, your 16th birthday. The day that you were allowed to get another piercing- wherever you wanted it. You had the simple ear piercing on your lobe, and you were dying for another one, to make you feel more confident and more 'punk rock.'

You had thought very hard about where you were gonna get it, and you agreed you wanted to get a nose stud because you always thought they looked cool and also elegant at the same time. Not to mention, making you look super cool during festival season.

You were originally gonna go with a group of friends, but they all bailed out last minute, except for one, Y/BFF/N. You two had agreed to go to Claire's; since Michael had given them the seal of approval that they did a good job piercing his ears.

You and your best friend met up at their house and they drove you to the mall that was about ten minutes away. Constantly screeching about the days plans.

"So you excited?" Y/BFF/N asked as they drove carefully, yet sped up as you approached the mall.

"Yeah, I've been dying to get this piercing for so long. I just don't know how Luke will act yet."

Your brother, Luke, was just one year older than you. He took that year gap very seriously and he was very overprotective over you and your every move. He had let you go to the mall, but he didn't know about your piercing plans. That's gonna be a hard conversation for later.

You and your best friend got out of her car, after she locked it and headed towards the mall, and into the direction of the Claire's store. Once it was in sight, with little girls and boys flowing in and out, you started to feel a little nervous, what if it hurts?

You two walked in, and consulted the girl in charge of the piercing station. Currently a tiny baby was getting her ears pierced, while sitting on her mother's lap, the baby was asleep, and when she put the piercing gun in, the baby didn't even bother to open her eyes. If a newborn can do it, you, a 16 year old can too, right?

You filled out the necessary documents and it was your turn in the hot seat. Your friend stood beside you with her phone out, recording the moment you had gotten your third piercing.

The employee marked a dot on the top right side of your nostril. It was sinking in what was about to happen. The gun pierced the hole, and the employee put in a sterling silver stud; one that had a blue stone in the center. She instructed you on how to clean it, and how to avoid infections. You paid and exited the store, heading back to the car.

"That wasn't bad at all!" You said, smiling.

"Yeah, now you gotta tell your crazy brother." She smirked as she backed out of the parking spot.

"I know, probably never gonna be able to wear it again."

"You were allowed to get a piercing- wherever you wanted. What could he possibly do?"

"You're right, he can yell but he can't make me take it out." I smiled.

The ride home started to get more fun as we blasted songs on the radio and sang along. Completely forgetting about Luke.

Once we arrived in front of my house, I opened the door and turned around to close the door.

"Thank you for coming with."

"It was fun, good luck in there." She smiled.

"Will do." I said nodding and closing the door, walking up to the porch and opening the door with my key.

"Hey you're back soon." Luke said, looking up from his phone.

"Yeah, went for one particular thing."

Luke stood up from the couch, looking puzzled. I rolled my eyes, it's now or never.

"What'd you get?"

"I got a piercing. Mom said I could get one when I'm 16, and todays my birthday."

"Where'd you get it?" He asked firmly.

"My nose, see?" I asked, getting closer to him. He looked at it more calm, and with admiration.

"Wow, that's actually very pretty."

"Thank you, Luke."

"I was worried it was gonna be somewhere else." He laughed.

"No, it was either gonna be on my nose or another one on my ears." I smiled.

"Well it looks very pretty. Happy Birthday love."

"Thank you Luke." I hugged him as he kissed the top of my head.
