Chapter 1: Nightmare

In front of me was a figure. It was dressed in a small white dress with blood splatter across it, and blue sandals on its feet. I guessed it was a girl.

"Zaria Cummings." She said.

"Yes?" I answered.

"You must leave now; the Pale Ones are after you." She said.

"Why would they be after me? Who are the Pale Ones?" I asked.

She put a pale finger to her mouth. I opened my mouth to talk, but no sound came out. The figure slowly started walking backwards.

"Wait!" I called after her.

I tried to run, but my feet felt like cement blocks had been tied to them.

"Who are the Pale Ones!" I shouted, but she disappeared from sight.

"I see, she has left." A voice said.

I quickly turned to see a man. An evil smile graced his lips, skin as white as snow, maybe a little less white, but still. Eyes red as blood with hair that could match Snow White's in blackness.

"Wh-who are you?" I stuttered.

"I am your friend, your enemy, your Pale One." He said.

"Pale One?" I was afraid.

"Yes, I am here to kill you, for master doesn't wish for you to know." He said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

Suddenly, he disappeared. Re-appearing in front of me, a few feet away. His smile grew larger, out of his sleeve shot a knife, a Swiss army knife. He slowly walked toward me. With every step, my mind ran faster. I was stuck in place, my legs felt like cement. He was now right in front of me, raising the knife to where my heart would be, he smile was a large as it could go, as he stabbed me.

My eyes shot open, while I sat up.

'Just another nightmare.' I told myself.

My hand touched the area, where my heart was. It was fine. I was sweaty and hot. I glanced at the clock. 1:35 a.m.

"Damn, dreams." I mutter to myself.

Those dreams have been keeping me up for three years, my body adjusted to the lack of sleep, but I am still really tired during classes. I sat up on my bed for awhile, thinking. Letting my mind float around.

'Pale Ones? Master? This sound like another fantasy novel.' I thought.
