It was a gloomy weather. April just woke up and got out of bed. Despite the greyish clouds outside her window, she looked pleased and quite excited to start her day.

She went to the bathroom and it took her thirty minutes to shower. For April, it was a quick bath. If she was really feeling like taking a bath, then she would have made it at least one hour or so.

She just finished in putting on her white long sleeve crop top and a high-waisted denim shorts, when her brother called out from downstairs.

"April, hurry up and come down here already!"

April just smiled and rolled her eyes. Her brother was always like this every time she tagged along with him in doing groceries. He wanted to do it as early as possible so that he could have some fun with his pals and of course, Camila. April liked Camila, though sometimes she got a little envious around her because of her sexy body and her sophisticated looks. Most importantly, her brother paid more attention to Camila than to her these past few months. April missed his attention somehow.

"Can't a woman spend a little more time getting pretty, Dan?", April asked as she descended down the stairs.

Daniel just scoffed. April and Daniel were having fun sharing insults to one another, when their mother stood in front of them and cleared her throat.

"I hope you two won't be too preoccupied with your bickering to the point you forget that you have some errands to do.", their mother acted to sound strict, but couldn't bear to laugh a little.

"Of course not, mom. April and I will take care of the groceries for you. You just focus on your job and leave the house chores to us.", Daniel smiled.

April could see the happy look on their mother's face. If only their dad was still alive, then their mom wouldn't have to do a part-time job after she was done with her full-time job. Their father had died when April had just turned twelve, while Daniel was thirteen. He died of a heart attack. The three suspected that it was because of his obsessive eating and lack of exercise that triggered to his death. He was really getting obese because of the stress from his work. He also experienced some mild strokes a couple of times before. So after his death, their mother made a decision to live a healthy lifestyle, and she made sure that her children will do the same as well. She couldn't risk another loved one to die an "unhealthy death" when surely it could be prevented.

During weekends, their mother did allow to let them eat junk food and stuff. It was a "cheat day" for the Cunninghams.

Mrs. Cunningham already made them a grilled cheese sandwich with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and melted low-fat cheese.

Daniel took his sandwich and grabbed the car keys. April took a bite before putting on her socks and white sneakers, then took her sandwich and went outside where Daniel was waiting.

"Don't you guys wanna drink or something?", their mother called out, standing near the door.

"It's okay, mom. We'll just buy some drinks on the way. We really need to go.", Dan smiled at his mom.

"You mean you really need to go, so that you can do your own business later... especially with Camila.", April teased her brother.

"Get in the car already and don't make a mess while you're at it. I just cleaned her yesterday.", Daniel rolled his eyes playfully and smiled.

They waved their mom goodbye. Normally their mom would be the first to be out in the house. Today was just her day off from her full-time job, but later in the evening she would go to her part time job, which was being a waitress in a small yet wonderful restaurant.
