Mark's POV
Well this ought to be fun Mark thought in his head as he drove his uncle's old Ford. It was nice of him to give it to him. Of course after he won the lottery there's really no point in keeping that old piece of junk. So he gave it to me.
Anyways I have to keep focused on one thing and one thing only. Hockey. Mark thought this was going to my hardest tryout ever. New town, new people, new coaches that had never seen him play one game in his life. I pulled up to the rink and saw a beautiful rink. Probably close to brand new.
I hopped out of my car, not looking where I was going and slammed into someone. And getting knocked down. I looked up and saw a burly blonde and 2 identical twins both red headed and with the same build as the blonde. " Oh umm sorry I didn't see where I was going." I quickly apologized. I didn't need any drama this early. "Yeah obviously not punk." He said. "Maybe next time pay a little bit more attention to where your going." "Okay jeez calm down buddy I only bumped into to you." I said,
After that, him and his friends turned around and walked into the arena. I picked up my bag and headed in there after them. I walked in and saw them pick up their bags. "Yes" I thought. I'll get to play them. I can kick their asses at hockey. I walked up to the registration desk and said "Hi my name is Mark, I'm here for the hockey tryout." They handed me a Silver and Blue jersey. "You'll be on the blue team." "Your in dressing room number 5." said the person at the front desk.
I picked up my bag. "Thank you." I said to the lady behind the counter. I turned around and walked down to the hall where the dressing rooms were.
I walked all the way down to the other end and saw dressing room number 5. I opened the door and saw a bunch of people laughing and talking but when they saw me they all stopped and turned they're heads to look at me.
"What." I said "Haven't you ever seen a new guy before." One of them stood up and said "Hi I'm John, I was the team captain last year for the Tornadoes." Hey John, I'm Mark I'm new here, I play left defense." "In my last town my team went to the Canada AA U18 Cup finals. We lost to the Cougars 3-1." "But my mom got a new job out here in Vancouver so we had to move from Ottawa." "Okay well good luck in the tryouts." "Mark was it." "Yep" I said kinda happy I know one person there.
I got my equipment on, put some fresh tape on my brand new Bauer Total One stick, laced up my skates, pulled on my jersey and walked out and waited on the bench for the Zamboni to get off the ice. Boy I was nervous as hell. I thought to myself. And then I stepped on the ice ready for my first tryout in for the AAA Vancouver Tornadoes.
