I wanted this date for them to be perfect so I spent a LONG time trying to plan everything out and make it absolutely 100% amazing (: even though they aren’t really going on this date I just feel like I should give the imaginary them the most perfect, breathtaking, amazing date in the history of perfect, breathtaking and amazing dates. Feel free to be as critical as you want on this chapter because if it isn’t perfect I’m going to go jump off a cliff or something…okay I might not do that but you know what I mean :P and please check out my other story Keep Holding On which is the sequel to Feelings Don't Fade Away <3

Liam and I have been driving for at least a half an hour. Every time I ask him where we’re going he just shakes his head and tells me to be patient. If we’re going somewhere fancy I’m clearly not dressed properly. Then again it’s close to midnight now so no fancy place is open. The scenery outside says that we’re up in the mountains on a windy road.

“Li,” I sigh. “Are we lost?”

“I know where we’re going,” He laughs. “You remember how I was gone all day?” I nod. “I was up here, setting everything up.”

“You didn’t have to go through all of this trouble,” I say. “Why are you even doing this?”

“I know Andy was at the party,” Liam says, successfully changing the subject. “What did he say to you?”

“He just told me not to leave you,” I shrug. Liam raises an eyebrow.

“He’s still breathing, right?”

“I didn’t touch him,” I say, pulling my knees up to my chest and wrapping my arms around my legs. “I know that would have upset you so I didn’t.”

“Hey,” Liam takes one of his hands off the steering wheel and uses it to take one of my hands in his. He gives my hand a reassuring squeeze and smiles at me. “I didn’t mean to upset you.”

“I know,” I smile back at him. “It’s just…he waltzed into the party that he didn’t belong at and acted like he was perfect; like he knew everything about you and me. It hurt. I love you and he was acting like I’m just using you and then once I’m done I’ll throw you away and move on.”

“I know you won’t do that,” Liam says, looking at me one last time before looking back at the road. “You want to know how I know?”

“How?” I ask, looking at him carefully.

“Because you came back,” Liam says. “If you were like him, you wouldn’t have come back that night when we fought. You would have given up and stopped trying to make things work.”

The car pulls to a stop and I look out the window. We’ve pulled to a stop out front of a log cabin in the middle of the woods. Liam hops out of the car and I follow him. He joins me on my side and takes my hand in his. His palms are sweaty, showing me that he’s nervous.

Liam leads me up to the cabin and opens the door. Inside the lights are off and the entire room is light by dozens of candles in choice places around the room. Liam closes the door and sits down on the bed, patting the space beside him. I join him and he turns so that he’s facing me and he takes my hands in his.

“Louis…I love you. There isn’t a second that goes by without you on my mind. When I’m with you it’s like the entire world just melts away and we’re the only two people left on the planet. Have you ever been so in love with someone that you fall in love with the little things about them? The way they look when they’re thinking or focusing on something? They way their face lights up when they talk about something they absolutely love? The way they talk to other people; their facial expressions and hands gestures? And just the looks they give you? The way they smile and laugh with you? The look in their eyes before they lean in to kiss you? When they run their hands down your arms and lock their fingers with yours? And the goose bumps and butterflies they give you?

“Have you ever been so in love that when they pull you into a hug and you feel all their muscles relax and yours do too because in that moment everything is utterly perfect and you feel so safe? And when you catch yourself looking at them wondering what they’re thinking? You’re not only in love when them and their personality, you’re in love with their soul; every fiber of their being. And just the way they exist amazes you. It fascinates you and you want to know every little thing about them. Have you ever been that in love?”

Towards the end of his speech Liam’s voice had begun to crack as he got more and more emotional. His brown eyes are shimmering with tears and I can see all his walls crumbling down as he opens himself up to me completely.

“Of course I have Li,” I say, shuffling so that I’m sitting on my knees. I cup his cheek with my hand and he melts into my touch. “I met you. I came to Penn State hoping to have a roommate to hook up with and I found you. I found love. I found something I never thought I’d find again.”

Liam presses his lips to mine and I can immediately tell that this kiss is different from any of the kisses we’ve shared before. While this one is still sweet and controlled, it was passionate and heated at the same time. As Liam pulls me onto his lap and lays me down on the bed I can tell that tonight’s the night ‘it’ happens. But this isn’t sex for me. With anyone else it would have been, but with Liam it’s different.

With every caress and kiss I can feel his love for me radiating throughout the room, filling me up and making me feel like the most important person in the world. As his body moves against mine it’s not hard and aggressive, it’s slow and meaningful. Our bodies fit together like puzzle pieces and they move together like they were created for this moment. We were meant to suffer through what we did, we were meant to have our hearts broken so that we could end up in the dorm room we share, go through some tough times, fall in love and end up here.

As we calm our breathing we stare at each other. No words are spoken- none need to be spoken. Liam’s brown eyes remain locked on my blue ones as our heartbeats return to normal and our breathing slows to its regular pace. I wrap my arms around Liam’s waist and rest my head on his chest. Liam’s arms wrap around me and he kisses my forehead.

That’s how we fall asleep- wrapped in each other’s arms. For the first time in a long time I remember what it’s like to feel loved. It’s like nothing else matters in the world except for me and Liam and this moment in time. For once I made the right decision. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
