Caleb and I got off the train at Chicago and I start to rip open the letter my father gave to me.
"Beatrice! What are you doing!" Caleb screams
"Oh, there is is going to be a big, scary monster that pops out and eats me up" I tease.
"OK, but what if there is something dangerous?"
I glare at him. This shuts him up as I keep opening the letter.
"Who is it from?" Caleb questions me as he looks over my shoulder.
"Mum!"
I read it out to him.
"Dear, darling Bea and Caleb,
I am writing this in the hope your father will show it to you. I want to let you know that I will not be alive when you read this but up with God."
I cry into the letter.
Caleb takes it from me and continues reading.
"I love you both dearly but I must leave, and so must you. I have bought you a house in Chicago and gotten you both full membership at Divergent High which is just down the road.
You will be brave!
Love Mum."

"Wow, Mum really cashed out on the biggest house, huh?"
I laugh as Caleb's jaw drops.
"Come on, Cal. You'll catch flies!"
He laughs and grabs something from the letter.
It is a small card with #2091 written on it.
"This must be the house key?" Caleb questions.
"Oh, nah!"
He rolls his eyes as he slides the key through the lock.
The door opens.
My jaw drops.
