   "Can I have a minute?
      I gotta tell you something."

"There's no fuckin' way," an audible gasp left Briella's lips as she glared at the boy laying on her bed, perpendicular to her with his head propped up onto the side of her thigh, legs dangling off the side of the mattress.

It was insane how close they'd actually gotten in the short span of a week. They were pretty much inseparable as Andrea and Luke liked to say.

"You better believe it mate," the words left Calums lips, along with a slight chuckle as he tilted his head to the side to get a better look at Briella's face; where she was sending daggers to him mentally.

After they first met, Briella invited him to eat with her and her friends during lunch, and it pretty much went on from there. Somehow the new member of the group. Currently, it was a school night and Calum was staying over at Briella's.

Now, I know what you're thinking, where was he staying? And the answer to that was simple; in Briella's room. Surprisingly, her parents didn't seem to mind them staying together, they found it adorable really, which Briella could never seem to understand. But let's get back to the real problem at hand here.

"Pancakes are so much better though!"

"As if! Team waffles all the way,"

Briella scoffed at the raven haired boy. Pancakes over waffles any day. They're usually encouraged to be eaten in stacks, meaning you'd get to watch as the syrup dripped all the way down the side, unlike waffles. With waffles, it just ends up pooling in the syrup, all soggy and gross. "Whatever."

"Awe is little Brie upset?" Calum got up from his current position, which was laying on Briella's thigh, instead he decides to lay down beside her, his head falling onto the soft pillow.

She turns over to face him, "Fuck off, and stop calling me Brie!"

"Never."

Briella narrowed her eyes at Calum, both of them were laying sideways, their faces just inches apart. To be honest, she wasn't really annoyed at Calum, deep down she somehow liked it when he teased her, giving her attention.

Calum gave her a bright smile before picking his legs up from the bed, grabbing the blanket and throwing it over the both of them, simultaneously reaching over to switching off the lamp on the bedside table. Just with that, Briella felt her eyes start to droop, a yawn slowly produced from her lips.

She feels warm arms suddenly wrap around her and without hesitation, she snuggles into his chest, their heartbeats beating against each other alternatively.

Surprisingly, Briella was never a huge fan of cuddling, that is, until Calum came along. His hugs were to die for and she felt as though they were the antidote to world peace. Dramatic maybe, but that's just how good they were to her.

No goodnight was needed. She took one last look at Calum, his eyes watching her carefully, glimmering in the darkness as he gave her a sleepy smile, and slowly but surely, Briella fell asleep in the arms of her best friend.

---

Briella groaned as she felt the sunlight on her face. The gleam of lights shone in through the small gap between the curtains, guided directly to her face. Grabbing her pillow and smushing it onto her face, she lay there for a second, contemplating whether or not this education was really worth it.

She sits up, rubbing her eyes gently before looking over at the sleeping boy on her bed. He was at the opposite side, all the way at the edge, his legs over the blanket, an arm propped up above his head and drool was slightly dripping down from his lips. Briella attempted to keep in a laugh as she quickly pulled out her phone to snap a quick picture. He just looked too weird.

Taking advantage of where he was, Briella slowly crept up to his side, her lips situated directly next to his ear, "CALUM!"

Immediately, his eyes pop open a second before he's falling off the bed, a thud echoing throughout the room. "What the fuck Brie," Calum sits up, eyes closed, rubbing at his neck as if he had cramps in it or something.

All Briella did was shrug her shoulders, turning away from him and attempting to get up from the bed to have a quick shower, a grin planted on her face the whole time.

But before Briella had the chance to do any of that, she felt a hand reach for the collar of her shirt, pulling her backwards back onto the bed. He'd somehow managed to trap her underneath him, a small glimmer of cheekiness slapped in his smile as he looked down at Briella. She wasn't sure if she was seeing properly, but it somehow looked as if he was slowly leaning his face towards her.

Shrugging it off, she liked to think she was seeing things because she was blur from waking up only a minute ago. Either way, she still was going to do something to get out of his grip.

"Hey cal," she whispered, getting his full attention and reaching up above her head for a pillow.

"Wha-" before he even had the chance to reply, Briella had smacked him straight in the face, a small amount of feathers and fluff dancing about.

"You're so gonna pay for that," Calum smirked down at her as she attempted to roll away from him. But that didn't really go as planned for Briella once he started tickling at her sides. After realising she was actually trapped, she wriggled underneath him, having a hard time breathing with all the laughter leaving her mouth.

Briella desperately tried to escape his death grip, but that only resulted in Calum tickling her even more, his hands reaching every spot possible at the sides of her waist, her singlet rising slightly. "Cal! Stop!" she whined, Briella literally had tears in her eyes by now from all the laughing, and finally an idea bolted within her.

With all the strength she could muster, she felt her leg raise up, kneeing the poor boy where the sun don't shine. He immediately reacted by letting out a cry of pain, letting go of Briella and reaching down. Briella wasted no time and quickly hopped off the bed, not risking anything again. She watched as he flopped onto the bed in a fetal position, again speaking the same words, "What the fuck Brie!"

She replied by flipping him off, finally running for the bathroom to have her deserving shower.

---

"This is all your fault you know?"

"You're the one who started it!" Calum and Briella were fighting like a married couple as they ran through the halls. Luckily the bell hadn't rang yet but for some strange reason Briella acted as if she were late, she just liked being early.

Calum was sending her off to her class first and just as they had reached the class door, he grabbed Briella's wrist, forcing her to turn around and face him. Her eyes glanced down at his loose grip on her before they traveled up towards his face. "Yes Cal?"

"Can I have a minute? I gotta tell you something,"

Briella's head tilted sideways as she stared at him confusingly, he sounded so serious. Just as her mouth opened to reply, the sound of the bell was heard, the ringing echoing throughout the halls, "I'll see you later okay?"

Before Calum even had the chance to reply, she shook his fingers off from her, running into her classroom. He let out a deep breath as he stared longingly at the door. Shaking his head to himself, he turned around and headed towards his class, thinking about the fact that he had almost kissed her and pretty much straight up almost admitted his feelings for her all in the same morning.

Keyword; almost.
