My name is Maddie. My two best friends in the whole world are Anne Jones and Lilly Smith. We have been best friends since 1st grade. Now we are much older and finally a big kid. Pretty soon we are all going too start 3rd grade.

One day and I was walking into the kitchen I asked my mom when was the first day of school was. Mom answered and said I will start next week. I was so excited I burst out of the door and ran to the phone that sat on the table in the hall. Right next too the phone was both phone numbers of my best friends.

First I called my Lilly and told her how excited I was to start. She also seemed just as exited and asked if i had talked to Anne lately. "No, I was going to call her after we were done" I replied. "Well I think you should call her before she leaves." Then it struck me. Anne was moving tomorrow. I told Lilly that she was right and we both ended the call.

As I was dialing the number, my mother had called for dinner. Of course, moms always call at the wrong times. Instead of calling Anne I hung up and ran to the dinner table.

As soon as I was done eating, I asked my mother if I can go call Anne before bed. She agreed and excused me from the table. As soon as I heard the words "you are excused." I ran straight for the phone.

I quickly dialed her number and asked to speak with Annie before bed. Her mother agreed but for only five minutes. That wasn't very long but I took what I could get.

"Hi Anne, how are you?"

"I'm good Maddie. How are you?"

"Oh I'm alright. I'm just a little sad that you will be moving soon. Maybe we could hang out tomorrow before you leave. Maybe even finish up our movie that we stared."

"YEAH!!!" She exclaimed. "We should make the most of it. I'll go ask my mom right now!" A minute or two went by and Anne came back and said it was alright with her mother.

I quickly called for my mother. " Mother Mother!"
My mother quickly ran over and asked what is it.

"Can I go over to Anne's tomorrow?"

"Sure sweetie."

"Hey Anne. My mom said it was alright. I'll see you in the morning. Good night!" "Bye"
