Josephine called after me as I tried to walk to my car. I didn't want to discuss this. I didn't want to feel like a horrible person because I'm pregnant and she can't have children.
"Liv, stop walking and talk to me." She yelled, and I turned around near my car and looked at her as tears welled in my eyes.
"Josie, I'm so freaking sorry..." I breathed, before wiping a stray tear from my cheek.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? It wouldn't have been so bad if I knew before I found out I couldn't have a baby." She frowned, as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I couldn't tell anyone before I hit 12 weeks, because I could've miscarried the baby. We told Chrissy and my sister, and then I broke it to my boss and my crew, and then we told your parents and Louisa, but you weren't there and we found out. Louisa told me to tell you, and I wanted to tell you to your face, but then I got scared because I saw how truly upset you were." I breathed.
"I'm upset because my dream of being a mother just got flushed down the toilet. Not only can I not have children, but Bobby can't either. We both are infertile and it sucks. If you would've told me before, this wouldn't be a problem."
"But if I told you sooner and I lost the baby, what would've happened then? Huh?"
"I guess I'd be upset... I don't know. I just wish you never told me now." She frowned.
"Yeah, well eventually you'd find out. I'm sorry that you can't have children, and I'm not lying about that. Just please take care of yourself and know that if you ever want to spend time with Chrissy, just ask us. We will bring him out to your house and you can spend all the time you want with him, and I know he'll enjoy it. Okay?"
"Yeah... okay." She sighed before she turned and headed to her car. I leaned against mine and sighed.
I couldn't help but feel like there was going to be more to this than it appears at the moment.

"Momma! Grandma Bernie is here!" Christopher exclaimed as he came sprinting into my bedroom. I tossed the towel I had been folding down, and then I picked up my son and headed towards the stairs. By the time I was downstairs, Bernie was already in the house.
"Well, hello there." I smiled a bit, and she swallowed hard.
"Can we talk real quick, Liv?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Yeah. Uh, Chris, go up and work on your homework. I'll check it later." I spoke before kissing his forehead softly. I sat him on his feet, and he went running back up the stairs. I turned around and looked at my mother in law and smiled softly.
"So, what do we need to talk about?"
"I think we need to talk about how I reacted to finding out you are pregnant." She spoke, and I shrugged.
"It's okay. Elliot and I talked about it, and we understand why you reacted as you did. No harm was done."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure, Bernie. I talked with Josie and I don't know where we stand but I tried."
"Was Chris upset about not being able to stay later than you guys did?"
"He was, but we got him pizza and we watched movies so he was good. But I'm sure that he'd love to sleep over soon." I smiled, and she nodded.
The house phone rang, and I stood up quickly and went to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Liv. We have a huge case, and we need you to come in and help work it." Fin spoke, and I sighed.
"Alright. I'll be there soon."

Bernie stayed with Christopher and was going to leave once Cynthia was home from her appointment. I drove to the precinct, and it was busier than usual.
I parked and quickly went into the precinct and walked up to the squad room. Once inside, I saw not only SVU but also Narcotics.
"El? What are you doing here?" I asked when I saw my husband sitting at my desk.
"Geez, Fin why did you call her in?" Elliot spoke, as he quickly stood and walked towards me.
"Because she's good with victims and we have about 10, at least, children that are higher than kites thanks to their babysitter that was an actual drug dealer." Fin huffed.
I looked at them with wide eyes and was super thankful that we really don't use a babysitter anymore, and when we do, she only takes care of Christopher, and at our house.
"Are they okay?" I asked, as I walked over to my desk and grabbed my badge.
"They are all going through symptoms of withdrawals at the hospital. Two were infants and were seizing when they got to the hospital. We can't find their parents and it's just a whole fucking mess." Elliot sighed, as he walked over and sat in my desk chair.
"Okay, well is there a call list of all of the parents? Or even a list of the kids... oh shit... what if the parents are in on this?" I asked, and Elliot swore and slammed his hands against my desk before heading towards where his Captain was. Fin and I walked into John's office and I sighed.
"Captain, what do you need me to do?" I questioned, and he frowned.
"Go to the hospital and talk to the victims that aren't as high as the others."
"I'm on desk duty. Are you sure?"
"I'm sure. Fin, take her. We are looking for the babysitter because we found the drugs and the kids, but we haven't found her and we haven't the parents so we need to do something while we wait."
I nodded and turned around. I walked back to my desk and I grabbed my jacket, before walking towards the door with Fin.
"Liv!" Elliot exclaimed, and I turned around and sighed.
"I'm just doing my job. Fin's got my back. I promise I'll be okay."
