Part 8 ~ the hoodie

And there for the door is a redhaired boy.

"Oh, hey KJ," cole says as loud as he can, trying to get Lili to hear it.

She does, but unfortunately KJ walks inside and they walk into each other.

Lili's shocked eyes look into his angry ones. He grabs her by her shoulder and starts to scream: "You slut, you fucking slut, first you get into my live and then you decide to fuck my best friend."

Tears are filling her eyes, she tries to hold them back, but she's scraed, really scared. He's getting closer and closer and then hits her, right in her face.

Cole sees it and jumps in. "KJ, she was just here for a school assignment and she didn't want to ask you, cause you are such an ass to her all the time, so she asked me. I'll see you tomorrow at school, bye." He makes up.

When KJ is out the house he notices Lili's tears, he doesn't really know what to do. He just walks to her and hugs her, very tight. She feels safe, one minute ago she felt threatened and now she feels like nobody can hurt her, cause he'll protect her.

After five minutes he lets go and looks at her face, it's already becoming more purple and red. He hit her right around her eye corner.

"Does it hurt?" he asks still looking.

She shrugs.

"I'll get that as a yes."

They walk to the couch again and continue the Hunger games, like nothing happened.

Lili her head is on Cole his lap and she slowly drifts off to sleep, overwhelmed by everything that just happened. Crying made her tired and she had a long day.

Once when the film was over Cole started playing with Lili's hair, but he quickly fell asleep too.

They're sleeping for an hour now and the bell rings, again. They both wake up and look around with sleepy eyes.

"Before I open the door, you need to walk upstairs, my name is written on my door," Cole tells her, so she gets her bag and walks upstairs.

When Cole opens the door he sees his mom. Crap, is the first thing he thinks.

"Hey mom, you're home early," he stumbles.

"Yes, I didn't have anything to do anymore and I wanted a wine. Your dad will be back an hour."

He gives her a light nod and then runs upstairs.

Lili is watching old pictures in Cole his room and turns around when someone opens the door.

Cole notices the now fully purple cheek and eye of Lili. He has a concerned look on his face and Lili asks him why.

"You've got a bruise, from when KJ hit you. What are you going to tell your parents?" he hoped she wasn't going to spoil KJ, because even if he was a jerk, he had been his best friend since ages.

"I'm going to say that I fall of my bike, I do that a lot."

He smiles at her and she starts to blush.

"You're blushing again," he says with a smirk.

She slightly shakes her head and has a naughty look on her face.

"I need to go now, but how?"

"You can go through the balcony."

They walk to the balcony and Lili gets goose flesh, because of the cold.

"Don't you have a coat?" Cole asks her.

"I was in a rush this morning."

"Wait." He grabs a hoodie out of his drawers and gives it to her.

"Just put it in your bag when you're home, I'll get it back one day."

"Thanks."

She puts the way too big hoodie on and Cole laughs about how cute she looks.

They walk down and get out with the backdoor. Where she placed her bike.

"Bye," she says and gives him a small kiss, which surprises him.

She gets on her bike and rides away, back home. Once she's almost home she thinks about KJ again, about how he hit and threatened her. She doesn't want to go home, but she'll need to.

She hates this kind of moments, she feels like someone is blending her stomach and she getting more stressed. She wants to focus on other things and notices how warm the hoodie -that Cole isn't going to get back- is, it comes to her knees and has his smell. It makes the stress go away, cause she feels save again.

She has this reckon that KJ will punch her into the hospital if he ever finds out, but how long will they be able to keep this a secret. It has been one day and they almost got caught.

She wants to go back to Cole, she doesn't want to go back home, she's scared, really scared. This works, living in a house with someone you're terrified of, she thinks.

She's so distracted that she isn't aware of the fact that she's almost home. Then when she's like half a minute away she sees her home and pulls out the hoodie. The warm feeling disappears from her body and she runs inside once she stalled her bike.

She goes to the bathroom and looks at her black eye and cheek it looks like she got in a fight. She tries to cover it with make-up, but it's swollen and too purple.

She walks upstairs and goes to her bedroom, she gets the hoodie out of her bag and pulls it on again. Then she walks to her bed and goes under the covers, she has a headache and just wants to sleep.

Within 4 minutes he's fallen into a deep sleep.

Cole is worried sick, he hasn't heard a thing of Lili and thinks that something happened, but she told him that she can take care, he'll see her at school tomorrow and everything will be perfectly fine.

He looks at his phone once again before going downstairs to eat.
