Xavier's eyes were outlined by his eyelashes that were long.
"Did you hear all that?" I said, hoping he didn't.
"Yeah I did"
His rusky voice was interesting and led me for a couple of seconds.
He was sitting to sit up and he hissed placing a hand on his stomach.
"Xavier you need to rest, you took a big blow"
Gently pushing him down, I grabbed some pillows to prop him up.
His face looked tired, his hair with perfect bed hair and he smelt of masculine sweat and a hint of pine.
But there was one question I had to ask
"Who shot you Xavier and why"
My answer seemed to take awhile for him to process.
The weather outside seemed to take a turn and pour down with rain now. You could hear the rain outside hit the concrete paths and the roof.
I've always liked rainy days they often blocked off and numbed emotions.
"It was Piper, we were to discuss some matters about business and to also see any info on you."
I got angry, Piper the one that held me cptive and took days of my life away from me shot Xavier. I swear when or if I ever see him I will kill him with my own two hands and a gun perhaps.
"Essie stop" His voice was clear and stern.
"I will kill him for all he has done to you, you have endured more than I have." He grabbed my hand promising.
I held his hand tightly and promised,
"And I will make sure he is dead if you kill him and if he is not I will kill him for what he has done and might do to my friends and you especially." I said, and honestly I don't know what I would do if Xavier and my friends were hurt or dead, Xavier is a prime example as I couldn't fathom the amount of sadness and hopelessness after he came in wounded. If he had died I don't know how I would deal with that.
I seemed to of stared into space when Xavier's thumb brushed over the back of my hand, looking to him and his hazel eyes, I smiled noticing and remembering how one eye was more green and the other more blue. They held kindness and so much emotion.
That night, I had visited Xavier again in the afternoon and when I came back to the bedroom they had given me, I took time to have a bath.
As I sank in, the warm water submerged around me,as I stared at the ceiling.
The ceiling was decorated in beautiful mosaic tiles, that formed up little pictures like movie scenes. There were people living in harmony surrounded by people happy, drinking and eating and dancing. It was like a celebration, a ceremony, that friends and family would attend.
Then a monster appeared destroying the happiness the people had created, destroying everything in its path to get to one person. The person invisible to the naked eye that was consumed by the dark corner that the joyous people provided in attempt to crown and mislead her. But she still stood there not moving and stationary as the monster destroyed everything to get to her. The woman, radiant full of life and harmony seemed to further sink back into the shadow further, as the shadow started to consume her and drain her and the monster began to turn, shrink and become anew.
It was transforming into a man.
Then the man held out a hand and took her hand within his and together went into the dark abyss.
And with that I too walked into the cold abyss alone...
But alone was something a was used to I suppose.
But was a monster coming to come with me into the darkness?
