I woke up that morning, and all the Athena kids were already up and awake; getting ready for the big party on Mount Olympus today. I yawned and reluctantly pulled myself out of bed. I definitely didn't want to be late. How embarrassing would that be? I put on my orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, a pair of jean shorts, and black converse. Then I put my hair up in a ponytail and walked outside.

The second I stepped foot outside of my cabin, I saw Percy's goofy grin and messy hair. I couldn't help but smile. I walked towards him and he wrapped his arms around my and kissed me on the cheek.

"Excited for today?" He asked, still grinning. I grinned back and nodded. For a second, Percy looked distant, his sea-green eyes far away. I stared at him in confusion.

"Percy?" I asked hesitantly. He snapped back into reality. Then he pretended like nothing happened and smiled. "Is something wrong?" I asked. I didn't need to ask, I knew something was up. "What's going on?" I asked again, when he said nothing.

Finally a look of guilt came over his face. "I'm just... worried," he said. I said nothing, hoping he would go on. He kept talking. "We're going to Mount Olympus today and... I'm going to have to see your mother," he said. I gave him a stern look.

"Oh, come on Percy. What's she going to do? Murder you for defeating Gaea?" I asked. He looked at me doubtfully. I kept talking. "The only way you could possibly make her want to curse you would be by, I don't know, proposing to me or something," I said, laughing. He suddenly became tense and his face turned pale. I stopped laughing immediately.

"Wait... you weren't actually planning on proposing to me, were you?" I asked, shocked, and also embarrassed that there was some hopefulness in my voice.

He remained silent and I was again surprised by my reaction. I felt like my heart was doing somersaults and I could not contain my grin. I willed myself not to squeal. When Percy saw that I was smiling, he looked hurt. "Are you making fun of me?" He asked. My smile faded quickly and my jaw dropped.

"Oh, of course not Seaweed Brain! Can't you tell that this is the happiest I've been in years?" I asked, then realized what I just said and blushed. "Uh-" I didn't finish my sentence. Percy was laughing now. I smiled again. Then Percy got down on one knee. I was suddenly conscious of everyone watching.

"Annabeth Chase, will you marry me?" He asked, with obvious hope in his eyes. I started to cry, and Percy looked like a kicked puppy. He started to stand back up.

Before he was on his feet, I tackled him and said, "of course I will, Seaweed Brain!" I had never felt this happy in my life, and I kissed him on the lips. I could feel him smiling. I wanted to stay like this forever, but then I remembered everyone was watching again. Percy and I got back up, both of us blushing and smiling like maniacs.

Out of everyone who was watching us, Piper looked happiest by far. She was grinning from ear to ear, her colorful eyes almost as bright as they were when Jason proposed to her. She waved a hand, telling me to come over to her. I got up on my tipple toes and kissed Percy on the cheek, then whispered, "I love you."

I walked towards the Aphrodite cabin with Piper and she gave me a big hug. "Congratulations!" She almost screamed. I smiled my biggest smile all day and replied, "thanks."

After we talked for a bit, we were forced to go outside and start leaving for the party on Mount Olympus. I was still so happy about the thought that Percy and I were getting married, that I didn't think about what my mother's reaction would be like at all.
