Chapter Twenty-Six

*~~~~~Niall's P.O.V.~~~~~*

Kendall takes Kaylee in her arms and runs out of the room with her, followed by her frantic mother and sister.

"I'm going to drive them to the hospital down the street!" she shouts.

"Kendall you don't have a ca-" I start to say.

"She will drive mine." Kaylee's mother interrupts.

The boys and I start to follow, but we get stopped by security when we make it to the parking lot.

"I know you boys want to go, but you have fans in there that you have to go sign for." Paul says from behind, "I will get a cab and I will take you there when you boys finish signing."

We are pushed back into the building. Paul has us sit at a long table with five chairs we are supposed to sit in. We all sit down and from left to right, it's Louis, Zayn, Harry, me, and then Liam.  I put on a smile for the fans that the boys and I adore, and sign albums, pictures, scrapbooks, you name it. I look to Harry, he is smiling at the girls and talking to them, but I can tell that his smile is fake. I look to my other side at Liam, who only has a half-hearted smile, I bet this really affects him since he now has a daughter. We go on to take pictures with some of the fans as they filter through. The last picture goes down the line as all of us sign it, when Liam finishes management and security surround us.

We are rushed to a cab that is barely big enough to fit the lads, Paul, and I. Once we are all piled in, I take my phone out of my pocket and call Kendall.

"Hello?" she answers.

"Hey babe, we just finished and are in a cab driving towards the hospital. What floor and what room?" I ask.

"Third floor, room 304. I love you and I will talk to you later, but Kaylee's mom, Jane, really needs someone to talk to right now. See you soon!" she replies.

"Love you." I say, before hanging up.

We make it to the hospital. When we enter, the lads, Paul, and I go straight to the elevator. I press the button that has a number three and it starts to move upward. When the elevator stops and the doors open, we all step out and start reading the signs on the wall that will direct us to room 304.

We walk down the hallway and I didn't even have to look for the room numbers. As soon as we came around a corner, I spotted Kendall sitting down on the floor, leaning against the wall holding Ava in her lap. They are both crying.

"What's going on?" Harry asks, worriedly.

"I-I don't k-know yet, t-they won't t-tell us." Kendall sobs.

I sit down on the floor next to her and wrap my arms around her and Ava. Harry sits on the other side of me and Liam sits on the other side of Kendall with Louis and then Zayn next to him. Liam, Lou, and Zayn whisper calming things to Ava, as Harry and I try to comfort Kendall. I let Kendall rest her head on my shoulder and I lay my head on top on her's and close my eyes.

I jump and release my grip around Kendall and Ava when I feel Ava stir. Liam is now telling her stories trying to get her to stop crying. Ava crawls into his lap and wraps her arms around him in a hug.

"I love you Daddy Direction." she says through sobs, "I love you Nialler, Kendall, Hazza, Boobear, and DJ Malik."

"We all love you and your sister." Harry says, as he chokes back tears.

Tears start to form in Liams eyes and he tries to talk but he can't. I think Liam misses Isabelle and Danielle and having Ava here somehow reminds him of them. Ava cries into Liam's chest as Louis rubs her back and Zayn sings softly to her. I pull Kendall close and play with her hair. I kiss the top of her head softly. I start to rest my head on top of her's when the door swings open and the doctor steps out.
