"Yes, I'm afraid it's true...", The female doctor trailed off as she examined her card in her hands. My parents nodded, as tears trailed down their faces. They knew this was coming from earlier tests but it's always worse when it's confirmed. I just sat here on a padded chair that practically screamed "Bad News". Cancer. It's such an ugly word. Cancer. Cancercancercancercancer. It was the only word I could think of. I looked over at my parents again. My shoulders slumped. Kaitlyn. She was the definition of perfect. Well, as perfect as a nine year old could be. My stomach hurt. My face hurt. My feet hurt. Everything hurt. And all because of one ugly word. Cancer.
