It all started after my brother, dad, and I moved into our new house in Florida. I was used to moving around a lot, so this wasn't a big deal or anything. I have a pretty great family, I tell them everything. But there were some things they didn't need to know. Anyways, me and my brother were on our way to the first day of school. His first day as a Freshman, my first day as a Junior. This should be fun...
"Dad, me and Jack are off to school!" I exclaimed, munching on my toast as I walked away. "Okay, have a good day at school, sweetie!" He said, waving bye.
When we finally got to our high school, I opened my car to see a guy across the street on the other side of the parking lot... Staring at me? What is he doing?
"You!" I screamed, pointing straight at him, "Stop staring at me, you creep!" I turned away, hearing his friends making fun of him and laughing. I could still feel his stupid stare on my back, but I just ignored him until I walked into the building. "Geez sis' why'd you have to make a scene on the first day! Don't you think how will affect me?" Jake said, annoyed at me. "Nope!" I said, waving at him while walking to Chemistry.
As I arrived in Chemistry, I sat at an empty desk and took out my phone. After a little time, I put my phone away and looked at the teacher. She was assigning lab partners so I have to listen. After the first couple names, mine was called "Hazel and Ace" she exclaimed. I wasn't quite sure who this was but I get along with guys more so I guess it was my lucky day? The teacher pointed me out to this Ace person and, to my surprise, it was the same guy from earlier today. I sighed and held out my hand saying "Hazel" he stared blankly at me then sat down. I lowered my hand and sat next to him whispering "You don't have to be such a jerk, yah know"
He looked at me with a smirk on his face. I gave him a questionable look then turned back and continued the lab...
After the final bell, I went to my car. While I was waiting, I saw Ace in front of his car. This time he was with a tall, blonde girl. The two were basically eating each other's faces. I started laughing so hard I nearly fell to the ground. After I recovered, I stood up wiping my tears away. Suddenly, Ace was inches away from me. I awkwardly smiled at him."Hey... Ace? Right" I asked with a nervous voice crack. "Why were you staring at Jess and me? You got something to say, say it to my face." He said firmly. "Well, no I just..." He slowly inched towards me, suddenly pinning me against my car with one arm. "Not so tough now, are we?" A smirk grew on his face, showing some teeth.
I felt a surge of fear... My hand is shaking uncontrollably, it feels like- no... I reacted in a split second, pushing him away from me. I guess I'm stronger than I thought because he fell to the street as I ran inside my car. Jake had been inside for a while now, he was listening to his music, bobbing his head up and down while mouthing lyrics. I uncontrollably jabbed the key into the ignition, forcing one of Jake's earbuds to fall out. He looked at me angrily, then calmed down once he saw my body shaking uncontrollably.
"Sis'... What happened?" he concerningly looked at me, shaking. "Nothing, let's go." I said firmly. Why does this Ace person have to be such a jerk?
Once we arrived at home, I grabbed Jake and told him "Jake, DON'T tell mom or dad about what happened today, okay?" "But Haz..." "Please, Jake." I begged. "Fine..." He admitted. I smiled, thanking him for keeping quite when dad burst into the garage yelling at us to take showers and look nice. Ugh, my least favorite thing to do...
After my shower, I put on overalls and a white T-shirt and went downstairs. My mom took one look at me saying "NO! HAZEL! Go put a dress on." "But I don't have any." I argued "Put one of mine on then." A grin appeared on her face and my face went into shock mode. This meant war mother... I let out a grunting sigh and stomped into my parent's room angrily.
In my parents' room, I found the most concealed dress I could find... Hold up, I haven't told you why I hate my moms' dresses so much. She wears the most revealing stuff and I always hate them, I guess I should go shopping for a dress for myself so this never happens again. Anyways, the dress had a long V-neck with ribbon X's crossed over it. The sleeves were short with little . The dress was uncomfortably short. I tied my calf-high converse and started walking out of their room.
I somehow got away with the converse. "Honey! You look absolutely amazing!" my mom screeched. "Whatever, can we just get this over with please?" I snapped back. "Of course, okay hubby let's go!" Mom excitedly blurt out.
As we arrived, something smelled... Familiar. Probably because the 'old friends' we were seeing had a son my age, and all guys my age have some sort of addiction to Axe Spray. But something about it makes me wonder... Ding Dong, we rang the doorbell.
A short, brown haired girl answered the door. She looked like she was 8 or 9. "Hello their Lily! You've grown so much!" dad greeted. "Yes, you look so big now!" Mom pointed out. "Stranger danger!" She yelled at us then slammed the door in our faces. My brother and I laughed, as my parents' faces turned turnip red in embarrassment.
After me and my brother finished our laughing fit, I knocked on the door again, wiping the tears that were left from my laughing fit. I turned to my brother behind me then heard the door opening from behind me. I turned around so fast that I tripped over myself. I was caught by something or I guess someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry are you okay?" I turned aroundand gave a shocked look... "A-ace?" nervously walking backwards.
