I tried to creep in as quietly as possible, I didn't want father to know that I was home. After mom left dad began to drink all the time,and drinking led to violence.Then he started blaming me, telling me that it my fault she left. I still remember when I was little and he would push me on the swing while mom cooked lunch. That was 10 years ago. I'm 15 now and he HATES me, I wish I knew why though. I haven't seen mom since my 5th birthday. I was snapped out of my trance by my father.
"TERRA!IS THAT YOU?" He half yelled half slurred. I stood,frozen by fear. I knew what that man was capable of and it terrified me. I heard heavy footsteps coming up behind me."Your late! You know I don't like it when your late, Terra."
"I-I'm sorry, Father, I-I lost track of time. I won't b-be late next time, I promise." I stuttered hoping I could go to bed without being beaten for once. Sadly though I knew that would never happen. Of course I was right, he started hitting, kicking, and punching me, as I laid on the floor and wept.
Finally after what seemed like hours he stopped. I looked up with my tear and blood stained face to see him glaring down at me.
"Next time, don't be late or the consequences will be worse." I jumped up and ran to my bedroom. Since I have my own personal bathroom, I wouldn't have to worry about leaving my room for the rest of the night. I automatically turned on the hot water in my shower and jumped in. The water burned my skin at first, until my body adjusted to the temperature. After I finished my shower I went straight to bed. I cried myself to sleep that night just like every other night since I turned 5...
