Chapter 5

*5 days later*

RYANS POV

I unlocked my front door. I had Abbi wrapped around my neck asleep and I was pulling her case in. Ben helped me in with mine.

"So, studio on tuesday?" Ben whispered, trying not to wake Abbi.

"Yeah. I'll let Laura know" I smiled as I lay Abbi on the sofa before hugging Ben.

"Thanks for letting us come along to Hawaii Ben, we both really enjoyed it" I told him.

"No problem man, it wouldn't have been the same without you guys!" He smiled down at a sleeping Abbi.

"Yeah, for a start you guys would have been at it every single night!" I smirked.

He smirked back,

"And on that note, i'll be leaving.." He swung round and exited, getting back into the car.

I took Abbi up and placed her in her crib before going back downstairs to make a coffee. I unlocked my phone and began to text Laura. I didn't know if she was awake, but she'd see it eventually.

To: Laura

"Studio on Tuesday, you down with that?"

From: Laura

"Yeah sounds good! You back in Seattle? Im moved in my new place! Wanna grab a coffee tomorrow?"

To: Laura

"Yep. Just got back home, exhausted! Coffee sounds great, meet you @ starbucks near mine @ 12 tomorrow morn?"

From: Laura

"Sounds good Lewis, talk then"

I locked my phone and smiled like an idiot, wait why was I smiling so much? Before I could answer my own question the coffee machine beeped. Mmm.

*The Next Day*

Laura's POV

I hadn't seen Ryan since he'd stayed at mine that time and got very very wasted. I was excited to see him again. I liked Ryan. Not in that way, well I dont think.

As I approached the entrance to starbucks I saw Ryan's face beaming over at me from the back of the shop. He got up as I walked over to him.

"Hello stranger!" He said giving me a hug and squeezing me really really tight.

"Long time no see" I said, returning the squeeze.

We sat down.

"So how have you been?" He asked me with a smile.

"Pretty good. I moved from LA to Seattle because Seattle's the place to be apparently. I've got lots of cool friends from here.." I smirked.

"Ooh really? Who might they be?" He winked.

"Eh, you probs don't know them personally but they're blowing up independently. Wrote a song about thrift shops..." I joked.

"We have more songs..." He shook his head.

"Oh I know I know, the heist is on constant shuffle on my phone, and the vs ep" I raised an eyebrow.

"Ooo this girl makes smart choices I see" he laughed.

RYANS POV

We joked around like best friends and I liked that.

When I had hugged her I wondered if I had squeezed too hard and held on for too long, but by her response she didn't mind.

When we had ordered our coffee's we began talking about the new song.

"So we're realeasing Second Last Chance?" She smiled.
