"Have you noticed something....off about Virgil? He has been awfully suspicious lately..." Logan spoke, almost uncertain for once in his life.

"I'm sure he's okay, Lo!" Patton, his close friend, cheerfully replied from over the phone. "Maybe he's just planning a surprise for you and doesn't want you to know!"

"Yeah, nerd." The almost obnoxious voice of his other friend-and partner of Patton-came on the line. "I'm sure he's fine. Why would he keep secrets from you? He loves you and is probably gonna propose like in those movies."

"Roman, it is not that simple. He has been doing this for weeks now. And I doubt he would do that. You know how he...nevermind." Logan said while sighing.

"Look, Logan," Patton said, suddenly coming on the line again, "Virgil's an....interesting person and you know that. I'm sure he'll act normal again soon! You'll just have to-"

The cheery voice of Patton suddenly got interrupted by the sound of someone calling off a flight number.

"Oh, sorry Logan! We gotta go! Our flight's gonna go soon." Patton said, a bit sad yet happy at the same time.

"No it's fine." Logan responded, a bit dismissive. "Enjoy your honeymoon."

And with that the phone was hung up, leaving Logan with his thoughts. He'd have to ask Virgil what's been going on once he returned home.

"We need to talk." Logan spoke up, getting a certain look in response from Virgil, who had only returned to their shared apartment several minutes before.

"Lo, everything's fine. Even I can tell and I'm the one with anxiety here." Virgil almost too quickly responded, a bit dismissive, before he started scrolling through his phone.

The two sat in silence for a few minutes, doing their own thing before Logan spoke up once again.

"Virgil."

The man in question looked up from his phone, before Logan talked again.

"You have been awfully....different lately." Logan calmly yet hesitantly spoke.

Virgil spoke up, his mouth running quickly. "What do you mean? I'm the same, I'm normal. I'm fine, nothing is wrong, I'm not having an affair or anything like that. Why would you think I am? Maybe I'm just visiting someone, or I'm anxious about-"

"Virgil! Breathe!" Logan interrupted, placing a hand on his shoulder. Virgil began to take small then big breaths, steadying himself.

Once he could breathe normally again, Virgil spoke again. "L, can I show you something?"

"Of course." Logan responded.

Virgil grabbed Logan's hand and stood up. "I-it's not exactly in here."

Logan stood up too, squeezing his hand and smiled a small smile at him, and Virgil led the two to his car, and they made there way to....well, Logan didn't know where but it was somewhere.

The car ride was silent, minus the occasional nervous tapping on the steering wheel by Virgil.

It wasn't until they arrived that one of them finally spoke up.

"W-we're here." Virgil spoke up, and the two of them got out of the car.

Logan looked at where they were and they were at.....a cemetery? Logan was confused. So he turned to Virgil who...was already leading him down a path apparently. Logan must have been lost in his thoughts.

The two walked down the path, hand-in-hand, even if one of them was confused that it was a cemetery they were in of all places.

Virgil suddenly stopped and so did Logan. Logan was about to speak until he looked down and gasped when he saw the name on the tombstone they stopped infront of.

De Sangria
1992-2007
A wonderful son who died young
"Isn't it funny?"

Logan turned to Virgil, about to speak, until Virgil said something.

"This.....this is my little brother, De." He spoke with no emotion. "He died when we were teenagers and the anniversary is in a couple days and....it's just all too much at times because the memories and....yeah. This is him."

Logan was speechless. Virgil never once spoke about having siblings to him. Or even Patton or Roman. It all suddenly made sense why he was so distance and off for the past few days. Gosh, Logan felt stupid!

The two stood in silence, before Logan put a hand on Virgil's shoulder, who looked up at him with a few tears in his eyes.

Suddenly, Virgil hugged Logan, burying his face in the crook Logan's neck, letting a few tears escape him.

Logan, shocked, gave him a few pats on the back, trying to comfort him.

"He would have loved you, Logan...even if he lied about it like....most things he would have loved you..." Virgil whispered, hugging him tighter.

The two stayed like that for a few more minutes in silence in the embrace. Until Logan broke the silence with a whisper.

"I'm sorry...I was not aware of him..."

Virgil replied, equally quiet. "It's okay...you didn't know..."

They were both silence for a few more minutes before Virgil pulled his face out of Logan's neck with a smile.

"Let's go home."
