Chapter 14

Ella's P.O.V

I opened my eyes to the sound of feet on the sand around me. I turned back over onto my back and slipped the earphone out of my left ear. "Sorry, did i disturb you?" Niall asked. "No, course not." I replied with a half-smile. I sat up and looked out at the beautiful blue water where the others were. Harry was picking up Lacy and chucking her in the water, Liam and Erin where splashing water at each other and Zayn had Louis on his shoulders as they tried to jump the waves... kinda failing...

"Why aren't you out there?" I asked Niall pointing to the others. "Well, Louis kept pushing me into the waves and Zayn was splashing water in my face... And it looked like you needed some company." He smiled. "Oh. Okay. But im really not that exciting..." I told him. "Are you kidding me? You're like one of the funniest / interesting people i know!" He exclaimed. I laughed at his reply and smiled back saying a thankyou. We sat there together for about another twenty minutes just talking and laughing. "C'mon, let's go and join the others." Niall suggested. "Nah. im alright here," I replied. "You go. I'll be fine here." I said assuring him. "No Ella, you're coming this time! Even if i have to carry you!" He suggested. "No way!" I laughed. "Pleaseeee?! I will give you a piggy back?" He offered. Damn it. I can never say no to piggy backs and everyone knows it. "Oh fine!" I grumbled, jumping up, rebuttoning up my shorts and jumping onto Niall's back. I loosely wrapped my arms around him and smiled into the crook of his neck. He ran, with me on his back, down towards the water as all the others were splashing each other. "You finally got her to come down!" Lacy cheered at Niall. "Nobody ever, is able to get her off the sand and into the water! You must be special Niall," she joked. I tried to hide my blushing cheeks by pretending to fix up my long blonde hair. I dont think anyone noticed as no one said anything.

"Lets play shoulder wars!" Louis shouted jumping up and down. "Only if Lacy's on my shoulders!" Harry exclaimed. Lacy laughed as he helped her onto his shoulders. "Lou, you're on mine!" Zayn exclaimed. "You're already on my back, so just climb onto my shoulders," Niall said turning his head to face me. "I guess that leaves us. Hop onto my shoulders!" Liam told Erin. When everyone had climbed onto their partners shoulders, we decided to do it as a competition. First up was Zayn and Louis versus Liam and Erin. "You're going down Tommo!" Erin shouted pointing her finger towards the water. "Nah uh! The Swagmasta from Doncasta will not be going down today. You will be!" Louis shouted back. Harry stood inbetween the two teams with his arms up. "3, 2, 1," He started saying as he backed away. "DIE!" Louis shouted as him and Zayn went forward for Erin and Liam. Louis had his arms up ready to push Erin off when he saw Liam starting to lose his balance. He dropped his arms as a smirk played across his face knowing what was about to happen. Then came the splash, as Liam and Erin toppled into the water. "Well, that was.... easier than i thought..." Louis said walking out of the water. Liam and Erin both emerged from the water soaked and took a seat on the sand as Niall walked him and I out into the ocean. Harry and Lacy met us there as we waited for Louis to let us start. "Now, a fair game please. Ready? 3, 2, 1, GO!" He screamed jumping out of the way as Niall closed the gap between us and Haz and Lacy. "Prepare to fell the wrath of Lacy and Harry!" Lacy shouted. My eyebrows raised. "Lacy, you did not just say that..." i exclaimed. my mouth wide open from shock. i looked down at Niall and he looked up at me. we mustve been wearing the same funny looking expression on our face. Harry and Lacy just laughed as i felt a soft wet hand push me right in the stomach as i began to fall backwards. i felt my legs slip off Niall's shoulders. My back stung as it hit the cold water. "Ah!" I screamed before the water overtook me. I knew i had hit the bottom when my wrist smashed into what i think was a rock. and once again, the splitting pain shot through my arm. i opened my mouth to scream out the pain. but nothing came out. my mouth just filled up with water. i felt the water take over me. Black dots were starting to form in my eyes. i was losing sight. My head was becoming heavy as i felt a pair of hands grab me around my hips. My eyes closed and everything went black....

Niall's P.O.V

I felt the oxygen fill my lungs as my head shot above the water. The salt in the air and water burnt my throat as i wiped my eyes and looked around for Ella. She shouldve come back up by now. i looked around again, but she still hadnt come up. i began to worry. "Ella?!" I tried to.scream. but my voice was shaky. i turned to see everyone back up on the beach, Ella wasnt there. She must still be under the water. without thinking, i dived under. My eyes shot open as i swam around kicking my feet, stretching my arms out to even get one little touch from her. I turned around again and kept swimming. I had to find her. She couldnt leave me like this. I started to panic as i was about to go up for air when i saw something about 5 metres away. i frantically swam to see what it was. i reached my arm out and felt a familiar touch on my fingertips. Those familiar locks of hair. Ella. i scooped her up into my arms and pushed off the ground to reach the fresh air above.

I ran out of the water carrying a lifeless Ella in my hands. The others had just noticed and ran to me. i layed her down on the sand and felt for a pulse. My two fingers were pressed to her neck as i felt a very small weak pulse. "Call an ambulance!" i instructed the others. As Louis ran off to grab a phone, Liam started CPR. "1,2,3,4,5,6..." He counted to himself. I was in shock. i couldn't believe this was happening. our day started off amazingly. Why did this have to happen. "Please Ella. Please. Your strong, c'mon you can pull through this please!"i begged. "ilove--" I began to say. But i was cut off by Ella vomiting up water. She was now lying on her side, with Liam patting her on her back as she tried to empty her water filled lungs. I scrambelled over to her and held her hair out of her face. She was now kneeling as i held her dripping wet hair away as Liam helped to control her breathing. In the distance i could hear an ambulance..God i hoped that ambulance was for Ella.
