Loud music that would be ringing in your ears for days, colorful bright lights, and people dancing like there was no tomorrow.

What more could you want?

"A dance partner would be nice." Sam replied to the ominous narration, breaking the fourth wall.

"What did you say?" Her red-headed rocker friend looked at her confused.

Sam took a sip of her cup. "Nothing."

She was, to say the least, a bit mad at herself. Because she could've had a dance partner. But she was to shy to ask the person she had a major crush on and known for almost her entire life now out. I mean how would she even be able to do that?

"By asking."

Stop interrupting me!

She took another sip of her drink, rolling her eyes at the narrator.

You can't even tell a simple story in this house anymore jeez.

Anyways.

The double doors of the school house swung open, but Sam didn't pay attention. Everyone was too busy dancing to notice.

"Oh dang." Her friend exclaimed.

Sam eyed her. "Hm?" She raised a brow when her friend pointed at something behind her.

"Is that Luna or am I going nuts?"

Sam turned around and almost choked on her water.

Just walking in through the door behind two of her sisters, making her way to the buffet -like the greedy food-loving bastard she is- was Luna Loud. But there was one striking difference. Instead of her typical outfit, or a dress which Sam had expected, she was wearing a suit with a white button-up shirt and a purple sleeveless suit jacket over it that was black at the back.

"Holy shit." She muttered, face flushing red.

Before Luna could reach the buffet though, she spotted Sam out of the corner of her eye and waved.

Sam, still lovestruck, waved back. "Dude help me." She whispered to her friend as she noticed that Luna was walking over to them.

"Hey is that the buffet I see?" Was all her friend said and walked off.

"Betrayal." Sam thought. "From the both of you." She added, glaring at the narrator.

"H- hey Sam!" She almost jumped at the sudden greeting.

"A- h- hey Luna!" She replied awkwardly. "Wha- what are you doing here? Don't you have a date?"

Luna shrugged and shook her head. "Nah" She stuffed her hands in her pockets "My sisters all got dates but I'm alone. Life is a-"

"LUNA! Not in front of the kids!" Luna clapped her hands in front of her mouth.

They looked at each other for a moment, both having a not so subtle blush spreading across their cheeks.

"Y- you look great." Luna stuttered, complimenting Sam's baby blue dress.

"Thank- thanks Luna. You d- don't look bad yourself!"

If you listened closely, you could hear someone screaming "Just kiss already!" From across the dancefloor.

"S- So do you- maybe- I mean would you like to- um-" Luna's phone dinged while she was babbling.

'Ask her to dance or I will!' Luan texted her.

Luna rolled her eyes. She took a deep breath.

"D- do you want to dance with me?" She scratched the back of her head nervously.

Sam grabbed Luna's hands and had a huge smile -and blush- on her face. "Sure! I'd love to!" She said almost too excited.

Luna's face was so red at this point one might've thought she had a sunburn.

Sam ended up having to drag the frozen, lovestruck idiot on the dancefloor. "C'mon let's go!" She exclaimed.

She had been waiting the entire evening for a dance, and her entire life for one with Luna.
