World's Apart (an Adventure Time fan-fic)

Chapter 6

Piper's P.O.V:

"Ice King if you don't let me go this instant it will get really ugly really fast. I will make every minute of your pathetic life a living nightmare." I thrashed around trying to get free of the ropes tied around my arms and legs as i sat screaming in my cell.

He gave me no answer as he stared anxiously out his castle window, giving him a great view of the ice lands that he ruled. "Ice King, if you know what good for--" He cut me off and pointed out the window at something below.

"Do you see all those really gross, giant ice monsters down there, princess? I made them from a new spell i learned. Everything they touch turns to ice and everyone they touch will become one of them." He said, still looking down at his creations.

"Yeah, so what. ...And how did you get out of the nightosphere?" I asked. Okay this guy was getting on my nerves with all his nonsense and constant need to capture princesses.

"Hudson Abardeer is actually a close friend of mine. He let me out for a small trade. If Finn doesn't give me his blessing to marry you once he comes, i will take over the land of Ooo with these monsters, kill everyone and then i'll let him rule with me and spare his daughter Marcelline so she can run the nightosphere while he is away." The Ice King smiled to himself at the thought of Ooo being his to rule. Wow. This guy was a sicko. And to think i actually felt sorry for him in the episode where you find out he was actually human at one point and that his girlfriend left him.

Hey, maybe that's why he wanted to marry me so bad. I looked a lot like his girlfriend with my red hair and my glasses or whatever.

"Finn wont come for me if he doesn't know where i am. He'll just think i stood him up." I whispered bitterly. Secretly i hoped he would come and give his blessing. I don't want all those innocent lives ended.

"Of coarse Finn will come for you! If you have been paying any attention at all you could tell by the look in his eyes that he is in love with you. He is probably--" He jumped back in surprise as i cut him off.

"He is not in love with me Ice King! Stop it. Stop saying that." Oh glob. If he was in love with me, he would definitely come for me and i don't think that Finn would give Ice King his blessing without a fight.

I sat in my cell trying to blink back the tears welling up in my eyes as i thought about all those people dying or even worse, Finn and Jake being touched by one of those ice beasts out there. Was this really how my first relationship was going to end? With him turning into one of those ravenous things and the future of Ooo threatening to unravel into chaos? l hoped not. 

Suddenly, the window that Ice King was once standing at burst open, shattering it and sending glass everywhere. "Finn, Jake, get out of here!" I screamed at him and Jake as they pulled out their weapons, ready to attack.

"I'm not leaving with out you." Finn grunted as the Ice King knocked him to the ground with an ice bolt and froze both him and Jake's feet to the ground.

Tears started to well up in my eyes again once i saw the sickly bug-like ice beasts slither through the window and swarmed the two heroes. I tried to warn them about what those things could do but all the fear and sorrow forming a lump in my throat kept me from speaking in the tiniest whisper. I had to think of something fast before they we're both hurt by the ice beasts. Struggling against the tight ropes on my wrists and ankles, i tried worming towards the the back corner of the prison cell.

"Wait, what are you doing?! Those are only prototype ice bombs. They're very unstable!" The Ice King rushed to the cell and fumbled with the keys as he tried to open the door but it was too late. I already had an ice bomb in my hand and i was about to throw it down to the ground.

"Finn, Jake! Take cover." As i threw the bomb down to the ground, time seemed to slow down around me. Jake instantly grew double his size and pounced over the ravenous bug things, tackling me to the ground as i dropped the bomb. His furry body shielded me as the massive explosion rocked the castle. I knew the explosion only lasted a few seconds but it felt like hours of tremors and a falling sensation as we plummeted from the top story of the crumbling monument. The blast was so powerful that it pushed all four of us into the air.

Suddenly, i felt the massive impact of the icy ground behind Jake's body. Is everyone still alive? that was my last though before everything went dark.

Hey y'all! Sorry if this chapter seemed a little short. Oh by the way, you probably remember my last authors note where i was really ticked off about how Princess Bubblegum is always breaking Finn's heart and how she's such a pris? Well i had a dream with her in it and i now have a new found respect for her. I don't like her, i respect her. Nothing more than that. I don't remember exactly what happened in the dream but i guess the candy kingdom was under attack and she was leading them into battle all fearlessly or whatever. (I'm still on team Flame Princess by the way.) Anyway, comment, vote and fan if you like the story so far. You guys are awesome! :)

P.S: I might not be working on this story that much for awhile but i will try to sometimes. It's just 'cause i have this great idea for a zombie apocalypse. You'll have to wait to read it because it wont be out for a li'l bit. Sorry!
