There is this one girl. She's somewhat quiet, not very social, but she seemed incredible. Always joyous, never gloomy. "Her smile always lit up every room." She always seemed so happy. Just ugh' How can someone possibly have no problems at all. How can someone have no fears or worries. Happy. That's all she seemed to be. The key word is seemed.
Little did they know what was hiding behind all of that "happy"
What she's hiding, is fear.
Fear of being judged.
Fear of not seeing tomorrow.
Fear of dying.
Almost every night she was beat. Beat until her drug addict of a father got tired and stopped. Trashy words spat at her from the alcoholic women she called "mom"
"Slut"
"Bitch"
"Faggot"
She was treated like an animal. They acted as if she was a dog that left piss stains on the carpet every afternoon.
She did nothing to deserve this.
Nothing at all.
She needed a care taker
She needed someone to hold her up.
She needed love.
But she always smiled. She didn't want people to know what was going on at home, so she smiled. She acted as if her life was perfect.
By doing that, it slowly broke her. Day by day, still holding up that perfect smile, not letting anyone see the real her. Nobody knows about the bruise marks on her skin from the beatings of her father. Nobody knows what shit she goes through at home.
And that there is the problem. She cannot be saved if no one knows what she needs saving from.
