I woke up in my own bed, and realized it was all a horrible nightmare. Then mom walked in with a tear stained face and I knew it was real. I fingered my neck and felt a bandaid. It was sore and I flinched. "Oh honey," Mom said and burst into tears. I struggled out of bed and clambered over to the mirror.

I didn't see a reflection. Choking on tears, I carefully removed the bandaid and twisted my head to see the mark. To have proof. To confirm my fears. I saw two inflamed teeth marks directly on the vein of my neck. "How long was I out?" I whimpered. "For about thirty minutes," she replied sadly.

I wondered why I'm not in the hospital. "How about I get you something to eat?" She asked. This is the real test. After a few minutes, she returned with a tray of cheese sandwiches, my favorite. I tentatively took a bite, and nearly gag. It taste like garbage. I've always loved cheese sandwiches and it's no coincidence that all the sudden I hate them.

I spit it out on a napkin. "Mom-" I start. "Don't say it," she interrupted. I ignored her because the truth has the be spoken. "That was a vampire. I shouldn't be alive. The only way I could have possibly survived if is I became one too. I am a vampire." I said breathing deeply.
