Chapter 13

-Day 5 Part 1-

"May I have your attention?" The teacher in charge of the prom said.

Everyone quietened down and turned to look at her.

"Just a few instructions," she continued. "One. Stick with your prom partner at all times. If I or any of the other teachers see a couple split up, you'll know what's going to happen."

Everyone groaned at that. I glanced at Ben. He was smiling to himself. Oh great. What a perfect prom.

"Two. There are some alcoholic drinks but we don't want anyone to get drunk so don't drink them. They're for the teachers."

"What kind of a prom is this, man?" someone whispered.

"Beats me," someone else replied.

"If you're caught drinking the alcoholic drinks, detention for a week. That's all I have to say, and do enjoy the rest of the night."

Ben came over and took my hand, then he started to check me out.

"How many times have you been doing this?" I asked coldly.

"Ooh. Many. I assume this is your first time you realised?"

Stanley walked over to me with his prom partner in tow. His prom partner spat at me but I nobly ignored.

"Watch your attitude, Kimberly," Stanley glared at her. "And you," he said, pointing at Ben. "Stop checking her out."

Ben wasn't happy. He pulled me to the food table and started feeding me strawberries. "Say ah."

Without a word, I grabbed the strawberry from his hand, threw it on the floor and squashed it with my boot. "Don't you dare do anything funny."

"What is funny?" he asked, pretending to be a mountain tortoise with puppy eyes.

Gross.

He carried me and slung him over his shoulder like I was a haversack.

"Put me DOWN!!!" I screeched.

But all Ben did was smirk. I punched him many times, but all he did was groan.

I face-palmed, unable to do anything. That was when I heard Stanley's deep voice behind Ben and I ordering, "PUT MY GIRL DOWN!!!"

Ben sighed and put me down. He scratched the back of his head and chuckled," You think you were light? I think not."

I couldn't tolerate this crazy boy's nonsense. I made an excuse to go to the restroom and on the way, I grabbed Carrie's hand, ignoring shouts from her partner.
