Chapter 46

Kaia was up early the next morning and had gone for a run. She'd felt a little better after texting with Marian.

Zayn had brought her some dinner and he had asked his mum to put the kids to bed. They just laid in bed together and watched movies. He knew she was upset about what had happened with Marian.

After breakfast, she went to the store and got some groceries. As she was putting things away she saw her sister walking through the hallway.

"Where are you going?" She asked as she saw she had her purse.

"Umm," Katia wasn't sure even what to say. "I'm meeting an old friend for lunch."

"Someone back from your assistant days?" She asked arching an eyebrow at her.

"Umm.. No, but I did meet her on a movie set if that helps," Katia said cautiously not wanting to upset her twin.

"Did you need a ride?" She asked. "Or is Liam taking you?"

"I don't want to burden anyone. I was just going to call an Uber," She said nervously.

"Don't be silly," Kaia said. "I can take you. You don't have to take an Uber. What time do you need to go and where are you going?"

"I was just about to leave. I umm need to text Harry for the location. Sorry twin he wants me to see her," Katia sighed.

Kaia's eyes widened and then she hurriedly finished putting away the groceries. "And she accuses me of lying to her," she said with a snap.  "I'm sorry, sis," she said. "I didn't mean to snap. It's been a trying time lately. I shouldn't take out my anger on you."

"I can cancel, Kaia," Katia exclaimed. "Remember, twins first, I will just text Harry I can't go."

Kaia reached out and touched Katia's arm and gave her a small smile. "No, don't cancel," she said. "It's alright. If you cancel she's going to get mad." She hugged her sister.

"Any advice,  sis?" she asked hugging her back.

"Tell her the truth about whatever she asks." She said with a heavy sigh. "Even if you know she won't want to hear it." She said pulling back.

"Do you still want to take me or should I call that Uber?" She asked.  "Never forget twin power." She winked at her.

"I can take you," she said. "Let me just tell Zayn."

"You are the best sister ever," Katia beamed then went to make herself a cup of coffee to calm her nerves about meeting Marian.

Kaia went to the den and told Zayn she would be back later. He asked her if she was okay and she told him she was, even though a part of her still wasn't.

Kaia kissed the twins and Karim. "I'll be back later, baby." She told Zayn.

He arched an eyebrow at her.  "Baby are you sure you're alright?" he asked.  "You were pretty upset last night."

She leaned down and kissed him deeply.  "I promise I'm okay," she said and couldn't help but notice his hold on her lingered.

Harry was up early and told Marian he would be back. He ran home to shower and change and on his way back to pick up Marian, he texted Katia.

The Ivy at noon. 

 I'll be there.  Katia replied as she drank her coffee and waited for her sister.

Kaia grabbed her purse and keys again. "Ready?" She asked her sister.
