School kept me away
I'm sorry...
Enjoy"Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Wood Hassan and I'm your chief flight attendant. On behalf of Captain Seth and Hafiz the entire crew, welcome aboard Emirates Airlines flight A37, non-stop service from Accra to New York .
Our flight time will be of 10 hours and 45 minutes. We will be flying at an altitude of ......
At this time, make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position and that your seat belt is correctly fastened. Also, your portable electronic devices must be set to 'airplane' mode until an announcement is made upon arrival. Thank you."
"This is going to be a long ride" I muttered to myself as I strapped my seat belt. After I took my phone and begin to play candy crush.
After about fifteen minutes I realized I was still on the same level. I was homesick and was missing my grandma so much.I decide to go through my gallery and flipped through the pictures of my grandma and I.
I giggled as I watched one where she was complaining of the heat as she turned the tuo on the stove and giggled softly as I reminisced on those memories.
I continued flipping through my gallery until I came across pictures of the girls and I.
Memories and memories I became nostalgic as different forms of emotions passed through me.
There were pictures where we went to the beach. Those moments were one of the best. There was one where i stood at edges of the sea grabbing Hanna's hand into mine tightly as the rising tides hit my feet. I giggled as I felt strange objects brush against my feet scratching it gently .After we were taken to a nearby restaurant where potato chips with tomato sauce and hot spicy octopus and crabs were served. It was my first but I still kept on salivating after the meal.
After we were served with chilled coconut juice washing down the meal completely.
I made sure I enjoyed every moment as I didn't know when next I will be able to do so.The next pictures was of us at the mall where we shopped for our toiletries and later watched a movie at silver bird cinema and later a trip to the Accra polo club.
I couldn't help but smile as I flipped through the pics till I was tired.Later my mind drifted to the flight attendants who walked up and down our cabin attending to passengers. Everything was just overwhelming .
Traveling in a plane was an an experience i never thought i will get. Well mannered women walked up and down the rows of the seat to see to the passengers.
They walked so perfectly in their high heels that i thought maybe there was some kind of glue that was stuck between their feet and the shoe.A particular air hoster caught my attention right from the moment i bordered the plane. She introduced herself as Elsie.
She had a soft yet beautiful smile that you will think she was trained and thought how to smile. Her uniform fitted her perfectly making her shape come out of the uniform just as pop corn popped out of a bowl. Her makeup complemented her looks that i wondered as i looked out of the window if she was human. My thoughts was drifted back to the outside world.
Everything looked so tiny outside the window and it made me feel like the earth was just a cartoon. I felt some presence near my side and turn to see Elsie smiling with all her thirty-two teeth outside.
"Is everything okay? " she asked. There again i was lost looking at her well plaited hair.
I made a mental note to plait the same style. A tap from her woke me from my thoughts.
"Are you sure you are okay"
she asked again.
"Yes please "
i said in response. She handed over to me a glass of flavoured water from the trolley before moving on.
"Advantages that comes with a business class "
i thought out loud as i took a sip from the cup.
