"d-don't drop me!" the little held on to his caregiver's coat for dear life as he put his ice skates on. jin only chuckled.
"i won't, I won't. just stay still ok?" he nodded and stumbled slightly, not used to the feeling of the ground under him being slippery.
"done yet?" the older tied his laces tightly before saying, "yup, ready to go?" he shook his head frantically.
"s-scared."
"of what? falling?"
"mhm." he bit his lip.
"i'll hold your hand the whole time, ok?"
"p-promise?"
"promise." he smiled warmly, making the other blush uncontrollably.
"ok.." they started to make their way into the rink, a few tears being shed, but they made it.
"see? we're ok." a dimpled smile immediately brightened the room so much, the sun itself was jealous.
"one, two. one, two." jin showed him the basics of ice skating, the other roughly mimicking his actions.
soon enough, joon was going on his own without even knowing it. he only realized it when his caregiver was caught up him. "i-im doing it! jinnie, look! I'm doing it!" he stuck his tongue out, adorably trying to focus on what he was doing.
"yay! that's amazing!" a person zoomed by inconsiderately and made the little fall, if a strong pair of arms wasn't there to catch him.
"hey! you didn't say e-excuse me!" namjoon squealed, stumbling upwards on his own, making the person stop and turn around.
"yeah, so?" he said, unbothered.
"that was rude." she scoffed.
"and why should I care if I bump into a retard?" the little didn't know a lot of things, but he knew the word "retard" meant really stupid. and that hurt him everytime.
"b-but-"
"why don't you just shut up? no one wants you here." the girl continued, glancing at jin. "get your boyfriend, he's bothering me."
"c'mon joon, let's go." the little nodded, wiping tears from his eyes, flinching at the young girl yelling. the older removed his ice skates and put his shoes back on.
"-of course you're on his side! such a fag!" that made him freeze.
"joonie, stay here, and cover your ears, ok?" he nodded and did as he was told, squeezing his eyes shut.
"listen, I don't know who the hell you think you are, coming here and yelling at people, thinking you'll get what you want!" he growled, his heart rate going faster and faster. "but, im the last person you're going to boss around, so what if you're a homophobe? I'm sorry, I'll just write 'hey, you! im gay!' on my forehead." people were paying attention now, some starting to clap when the snobby girl had a mini-tantrum and stormed out of the rink. "you'll never see me here again!"
"thanks! hope the door hits you on the way out!" he waved making the girl groan loudly before slamming the door.
a few claps turned into a full-blown applause, jin was slightly startled when a hand tapped him on the shoulder, turning around to see a lesbian couple, who looked about his age.
"thanks for doing that, she was a bitch." the other girl nodded.
"she yelled the same things at us, like' she started talking with her hands, "girls can't love girls! or, "i thought you guys were normal."
"well, it's no big deal. whenever I see anyone disturbing people, I just have to stop it."
"that was really brave. I hope we see you again!"
"oh, I almost forgot to tell you my name, it's jennie."
"lisa."
"my name's seokjin, but you can call me jin."
"see you around, jin!" he waved lightly, glad that he made a new friend.
"j-jinnie? c-can i open my eyes now?" he almost forgot about the little he had taken here.
"yeah, let's go." he returned his ice skates, and walked out of the rink.
"meanie girl gone?" he asked.
"yeah, she won't come back."
"jinnie?"
"yeah?"
"a-am i a retard?"
