Two weeks later"Are you sure you can keep going?" Harry asks me, kneeling down in front of me while I rest, my hands on top of my knees.
I nod, this was a terrible idea but I don't want to ruin this for him.
"Yeah. I just- Need to rest. I'm so tired." I say, working on my breathing.
This morning, Harry got the idea of hiking. We have spent so much time being busy with each other's, the house, resting in general, that I really thought this was a fun idea for the both of us to do something different. We stay in almost every single day, this was something different to do, I couldn't say no.
Turns out, it was not a great idea at all.
"Let's take a break." He offers but I shake my head, taking a sip of water.
"Let's keep going, I'm okay." I say and stand up, my body feels heavy and it hurts to stand correctly, specially my lower back.
I continue walking, he follows me and walks beside me. I walk slower and I notice his steps are being careful on not speeding too much.
I don't want to be a party pooper, I agreed on going on the hike. It's beautiful outside but I feel my body sweating everywhere, even in places it shouldn't be sweating, it's actually very very hot here under the sun. We continue walking for another five minutes but I have to make a stop again. It's too much weight to handle.
"Are you sure you can keep going? Babe." He stands in front of me, looking at me eye to eye.
"Let's take another break. I can walk a bit more." I say, taking another sip of water. I shouldn't be drinking this much water, I'm going to feel the need of peeing anytime and we are in the middle of nowhere.
After another pause, I keep walking, trying to fight the pain I feel in my lower back. I'm just not used on exercising and much less when I'm twice my usual weight. Well, not twice, but heavier.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asks, and I stop again. It's just too hot to continue.
"I can call an Uber, I mean, we have not walked that much but in your condition I know it must feel like a lot." He says giving me a smile.
"With thirty one weeks in, they feel like eight miles." I say, finally giving up and sitting on the pavement. I take a drink from my bottle, looking up at him.
"Okay Eminem. I'm calling the car." He says, taking out his phone.
I give up, taking a bit of the water in my hand and wetting my face with it. It doesn't help, the sun is shining brightly above us.
"He will be here soon. How are you feeling?" Harry asks me, taking the water from me.
"I'm sorry for being such a bummer. I'm just... Heavy." I say, really feeling bad. "We can try some other time."
"It's okay, it was a bad idea." He sits next to me, looking out at the road. "We can... try other things. I like staying in."
"I know for a fact that you don't." I say, I know him too much. He enjoys going out often and moving around, he enjoys new things and traveling. He tolerates staying in but not every single day. I know him.
"But with you I do, I mean it." He says looking at me reassuringly, I give him a smile. We both turn when we hear the tires of a car coming near us.
We go back to our place, the drive was quite quick because we weren't that far from home. When we arrive Jack is with Martha playing on his cage, that's how Harry calls it. He's old enough to be on it, he's even starting to stand up on his own.
