The Conversation - A One-Shot

"Thank you everyone for your support, we love you!" Baekhyun shouted out with a smile as Exo finished their set at a music event where they were performing. The crowd cheered and applauded their performance which made them immensely happy. The group headed back to their backstage room where they wanted to relax for a bit before getting back to their dorm. They initially wanted to hang out with other groups and party with them after the event, but they were just too exhausted.

On their way to the backstage, they walked by a lot of groups who were watching them from the backstage, waiting for their turn to perform on that same stage. Lay was also there, cheering them on. Lay did not perform with the group that night but he was determined to support them for their performance and flew from China just to see them.

They all hugged him and asked if he enjoyed the show and he replied that he was very proud of them. After the group had hugged other groups backstage who were giving them their support, they collectively decided to go to their backstage, along with Lay.

"I can't stay long, you know?" Lay spoke with a sad tone in his voice.

"We know Yixing, but we are very happy that you're here! Thank you once again for coming, it really is great to have the family back together!" Suho spoke and gave Lay a hug.

"Classic mom move" Baekhyun teased and everyone in the room chuckled, including Suho.

"But it's been really nice to see you all! Your performance out there was strong and you know that I will be giving you my support as much as possible!" The group was listening to Lay's comment with smiles on their faces. He then looked across the room silently with a smile on his face, nodding at each member.

"Come on, let's get this group hug going!" Lay spoke happily, wanting to properly say goodbye to the group. Everyone joined in, saying goodbye to their member who had to leave at that moment.

"We'll miss you!" Suho spoke as Lay was getting out the door.

"I'll miss you all as well" he replied with a faint smile on his face as he waved his members goodbye.

There was a silence in the room - no one knew what to say at that point because they all felt a bit sad that Lay had to go. After a while, Suho spoke first:

"Well... at least the performance was great!"

"Hahahaha yes mother, it was!" D.O was the first one to comment which made everyone chuckle.

"Whaaat? Hahaha, I was just trying to lighten up the mood... I'll miss seeing Yixing though" Suho replied with a faint smile.

"Yeah, me too..." Xiumin commented as well and everyone nodded their heads.

"Well, there it is again, that "happy" atmosphere hahaha!" Baekhyun joked and soon everyone started to laugh.

"Okay, now this is better, let's go back to our dorm now that the good vibe is back! Does anyone want to get something to eat while we're on our way there?" Suho asked.

"Oh, I definitely want to get a burger!" Kai chimed in.

"Oh, fries would be nice right now!" Xiumin added to the conversation.

"Okay, mama's paying so let's go then!" Suho replied enthusiastically and his energy made everyone smile and chuckle.

"Oh, that was actually a good one!" Chen commented.

"D'you think?" Suho asked.

"Yeah... The delivery wasn't that bad." He joked as they went out of the room.

Chanyeol and Sehun were mostly silent during these group conversations - Chanyeol because he was tired from all the energy he spent on stage along with the energy he spent on just goofing around the backstage area while Sehun was silent because he was in deep thought.
