|Twenty Four|
"Yooni-chan" Akumu sung as he hung off of me as I was carrying food down to Woo. "Where's Rini-chan and Min-Chan going?"
"I-I don't know" I answered honestly as I descended the stairs into the basement. "Death should know."
Ah Rin had run off with Min-Hyo, leaving us here with Death. I didn't know why, I didn't have time to ask. Reniji had left a little bit before that, and Akumu had cheered up since then.
His silver eyes lit up. "Aeshi! Boom boom! Oh isn't he sugoui??"
I faltered. "Isn't he...what?"
"I love Expire Date! They're my favourite Korean band ever!"
"They're...okay?" I said slightly confused, before I turned to face the tied up Woo.
I had been told that he was blind. And he seemed like that. The whites of his eyes were black, and his iris being a slightly lighter grey. But he still seemed creepy as he glanced at nothing, sitting calmly with his chains swirled around him.
"Is he okay?" Akumu then asked.
"Woo is fine" he answered softly.
I flinched. He didn't seem fine. He seemed all too calm and collected for the situation he was in. And that scared me more than it should.
"Why are you so calm?" I asked him.
His shoulders slumped, making some hairs fall into his eyes. "Woo is used to all this. My master used to do worse to me...so I'm taking in the silence."
I didn't want to think what his master had done to him. Who was it anyway..? That fat man that Eu had absolutely...
I shivered.
Akumu tilted his head to the side as he looked over him solemnly. "I'm sorry."
Woo turned towards him, something that made my heart freeze up at the fact that he was t actually able to see. But he probably heard very well.
"You...show sympathy?" He said quietly.
"The fact that you are alive is showing sympathy..." I said softly. "Empathy, more like it."
The word seemed to not register with Woo. And even though I didn't know woo, my heart twisted silently in a weird way. And as I looked to Akumu, I saw him looking the same as I did.
I leant down and placed down a bowl of Soba - cold wheat noddles that Akumu had made. A traditional Japanese dish. I sighed as Woo didn't move, and I grabbed his hands gently and placed them on the food.
He bristled.
"This I-is for you" I said softly. "Soba. Eat up."
I stood then, and I watched at Woo slowly scooped up the food in his hands, before he put them to his lips and bit into them. He slightly smiled, but didn't say thank you or anything else.
Akumu clapped his hands with hunched shoulders, an excited look in his eyes. "Yatta! Good job Woo-chan!"
Woo paused to smile slightly in our direction.
Ah Rin had wanted to torture him. Then kill him for his role in hurting Eu. But when she had seen Eu's reaction towards him when he found out he was here...
I turned and walked up the stairs, Akumu following.
That's when I heard the open loudly.
And the sounds of many footsteps.
Then Death yelling.
I hurried up, Akumu with wide eyes as he looked as worried and as me. We exited the room, and ran into the main room where we had heard Death.
